5 months later:
Camila seemed happier. Not that she was ever in a state of depression - she was her smiley self - but now the girls couldn't figure out why she would be smiling every morning at school when they had only just woken up and had a math test that day. School no longer seemed to phase her, like it would anyone else, she was just always in a good mood. Little did her friends know that her and Lauren had come accustom to talking on their roofs everyday at 4:30. Yes at first it was just because of school work but then one day they both just happened to go out when they saw the other. It then became a thing. They'd talk about pointless stuff, opinions, a funny YouTube video they saw that day, whatever they wanted to talk about. Conversation just came easy to them. There was just an unspoken rule that when in school, Lauren was only Ms. Jauregui, her teacher. Outside of school though, that had become very close friends.

After your average day of school Camila stopped by Jamba Juice, a smoothie place that was on her way home. She got a banana smoothie. She began stopping by there so it would take up some time so she wouldn't have to wait as long for 4:30, as it was the highlight of her day. Once she got home it was almost time so she headed up to her room and onto the roof. For the first time she found that Lauren was already out there on her phone. Lauren looked up when she heard the window open and smiled. "Hey Camz!" "Hey Lo!" Camila sat down. Lauren put her phone on her pocket. "Ooh what flavor smoothie?" Asked Lauren. "Banana" "I've never tried that, is it good?" "Yeah! I REALLY love bananas." Camila held out her drink. "You can try it if you want." "You sure?" Camila nodded. "Thanks!" Lauren took the drink and took a sip. She smiled. "Banana-y" she handed it back. Camila laughed. "So, I need to rant." Said Lauren. "Go for it." Replied Camila. She secretly loved her rants. She was always so passionate about what she had to say. "Ok this is a not so great rant though. Okay. So basically I have to go out of town." Camila already decided that unlike the others - she would not enjoy this rant. "wait what?" "Only for like a week." That made Camila feel a little better, but, still a week seemed like a long time to her. "It's for new teachers I guess. I have to go to a conference and that conference lasts two days - which will be death, and it's far away so it'll take a full day to get there and another to get back. That's four days, and then the last few days I'm spending with my sister for her birthday which isn't bad I'm fine with that. Excited in fact, I haven't seen her in a long time. I'm just peeved about the conference. Just then there was a loud thud of thunder, making both girls jump - Camila nearly fell off the roof. "Nuh-uh nope it better not rain - how am I supposed to rant??" Camila frowned. She didn't want this time to be cut short - especially since Lauren had to go out of town. They had become really close and she was going to miss her, although she wouldn't admit it. "Uh- well we could go in my room?" They had never gone inside another's house. It was kind of like breaking a wall, or a new boundary or step. Lauren was iffy because of being her teacher it seemed kind of risky. However, she thought, no one would know and it was basically the same thing as what they were doing now. "Uh- yah. Yah ok." She watched as Camila lit up. It then began raining right as the girls started crawling through the window into Camila's room. Camila closed the window after they both got in. Lauren looked around at her room. "Not much, but, yno. This is it." Camila smiled. Lauren smiled. "I like it." She looked over at Camila's guitar. "O forgot you play guitar, could you play something?" Lauren said excitedly. Camila looked a little uneasy. "Well..I'm not a great singer, I don't really like to sing in front of people.." Lauren gripped Camila's shoulders. "Camz, I bet your amazing. Don't put yourself down okay?" Camila looked over at her guitar. "Ummmmm.. How about this. I'm writing a song and when I finish writing it I'll sing it for you?" Asked Camila. Lauren nodded, smiling. "Promise?" Camila held out her pinky finger. Lauren laughed and held hers out, they pinky promised. Camila sat down on her bed and motioned for Lauren to join her. She did. "So what do you wanna do?" Asked Lauren. "Well, we cou-AHH!" Camila screamed as a terribly loud thunder shook the house. "Are you okay??" Asked Lauren as Camila basically held onto her for dear life "yah- I'm usually not afraid of storms I just was caught off guard - I honestly don't think I've ever witnessed such loud thunder in my life." Camila giggled. She then realized that she was holding onto Lauren and started to let go until she realized just how comforting the feeling was and decided to savor it a little longer. "Hey we could watch Netflix?" Asked Camila. "Yah sure! What should we watch?" "The office?" Lauren laughed. "Okay!" "Let me go get my lap top." Camila got off her bed, frowning at the loss of contact. She left the room for a moment to retrieve her lap top and when she came back she found Lauren snuggled under the covers, but propped up with a few pillows. Camila smiled. Camila crawled into the bed and found herself snuggling back up with Lauren. Lauren herself was a little surprised. "Oh sorry, I like to cuddle, we don't have to if you don't want.." Lauren quickly shook her head. "Oh, no it's ok! I just didn't expect it." Camila put the computer in front of them and turned on a funny episode from one of the later seasons. By the time they were halfway through their second episode, Camila's arm was wrapped around Lauren, hugging her close with her head lying in the crook of her neck. Lauren's head rested on Camila's and she had her arm around Camila as well. "Michael is so awkward." Lauren cringed. "Yah." To be honest Camila wasn't paying that much attention, but instead to Lauren. Her steady breathing, her cute laugh that ever so often made an appearance while watching, how her hand brushed her side occasionally. The fact that she was actually cuddling her. Camila had admitted to herself over the past few months that she had a crush on Lauren. It really scared her because she was her teacher, but as they became closer, she started seeing her as just Lauren. Even in school. She couldn't help it. Lauren noticed she wasn't paying attention when Camila didn't laugh at a really funny part. "Camz? You aren't paying attention." She said, turning to make eye contact with Camila. "I don't want you to go." Said Camila quietly. "Camz it'll only be a week." She smiled. "Yah but I'll miss you. What if we have a mean sub? Plus 4:30 is now the best part of my day." Said Camila, who was now beginning to blush. "You're one of my closest friends now, even though you are my teacher. I don't care." Lauren ran her hand through her hair. "You know I'm not even supposed to be able
To have a friendship with you." Lauren said quietly, pausing the show. "Yah but who can deny this charm." Said Camila, with a goofy grin on her face. Lauren laughed. She looked at Camila and then quickly gave her a peck on the cheek. Camila turned bright red. Lauren tried to hold in a laugh but failed. Camila hid her face in Lauren's neck. "Lo Loowww" "Camila you're five." Lauren laughed. "Nuh uh!" Said Camila. "I'm at least seven." She lifted her head and quickly stuck out her tongue.

Camila opened her eyes to the sound of Michael from The Office screaming. "Huh?" She leaned forwards and closed her computer, turning it off. She looked at the clock. 12:30 AM. She turned to her right and found Lauren still there. They must have both fallen asleep. Lauren needed to get home since she was leaving in only a few hours. But Camila decided to savor the moment a little longer - besides Lauren was fast asleep. Camila realized their arms were still around each other, only now in a tighter embrace. Camila blushed. She lifted one hand and brushed some hair out of Lauren's face. She slowly leaned in an kissed her cheek. After about thirty more minutes Camila finally decided to wake Lauren up. "Lolo?" She whispered. Lauren's head moved a bit. "Lauren?" Lauren's eyes slowly opened. "Hm? Camz?" She sat up. "We both fell asleep?" Lauren ran her hand lazily through her hair. "What time is it?" "It's one AM." Lauren's eyes widened. She turned to the window to find it pitch black, and it was still raining. "OH MY GOSH." She then realized it was the middle of the night and that she was being a little too loud and went to a whisper. "Camz I leave in a few hours oh my gosh I can't believe we fell asleep!" She whisper screamed, getting out of bed. "And of course it's still raining." Both of their makeup looked slightly smeared and they're clothes wrinkled. "I'm so sorry Lauren." Camila said, upset because Lauren was upset. "No no don't be it's fine I promise." Lauren looked back out the window. "Hey- do you uh- mind if I just sleep here for the next few hours. My suitcase and everything is at my house and stuff. I'll just need to grab it in the morning.....if - if that's okay with you- if not it's totally fine I'll just-" "No no! It's fine, really!" Camila said as she took off her shoes that she had fallen asleep in. Lauren began to do the same. "Uh- do you want to change into sweatpants or something? Those skinny jeans probably aren't comfortable to sleep in." Said Camila. Camila was in leggings so she was fine. "Uh- yes please- thank you." Lauren said smiling. Camila went to her drawer and grabbed a pair and tossed them to Lauren. Lauren quickly changed her pants and then got back into bed. Camila moved the lap top off the bed and on the floor. Camila turned the light that they had left on when they fall asleep off. Lauren and Camila just awkwardly stared at each other in the darkness for a few moments, until they both started smiling - which lead to giggling- which led to quieting the other as to not wake her sister or parents. Lauren reached out and grabbed Camila's hand. "Thanks a lot Camila." "For what?" "For being my first real friend since I moved here." Camila smiled wide. "Awee no problem Lo" "I'm glad we are neighbors.. Otherwise you would only be a random student I have." "I'm glad you don't look at me as a student, nor I you a teacher. You're really great." "Goodnight Camz" "goodnight Lo." Camila closed her eyes but she then felt Lauren tug on her arm and pulled her close to her. "I wanna cuddle." Camila heard Lauren say in what was the cutest baby voice she had ever heard. "Ok" Camila giggled. Camila took an opportunity to kiss her cheek again and with that, they both fell asleep.

(A/N: I swear there's an actual plot it's just gotta have the before stuff to set everything yno- I swear it's diddly darn coming soon :,-) )
