After a while, all the noise from the room died down. The doctor came out and told me exactly what I predicted. I waited until everyone left the room before officially saying goodbye. I hugged your lifeless body as tightly as I could. I stayed that way for a while. When I pulled away, I brought my fingers to my cheeks. I was shocked at how dry they were. I didn't understand but as soon as I began remembering your smile, I realized how happy you must be wherever you are. I knew if you stayed, you would have just been in constant pain.
