ALEXS POV:
Damn it, damn it, damn it! I can't believe what a douchebag I've been! And Zack jumped in and punched Mel..... Fuck, I needed to fix this now!
"Listen, Zack...." I started out akwardly, glancing up to see his expression. "I know you want Melinda, but we're kinda engaged, and I really dont wanna have this drama on the road, so..." I stopped when I saw Zacks expression. He looked furious, his nose flaring, his eyes flashing. His voice dropped down into a deadly whisper.
"No, you listen to me Gaskarth, you arent worth shit. You're a man-whore, and you don't deserve the grass on the bottom of her shoes. I'll play nice on the road for her sake, but make no mistake on where we stand. Now, you might think you've already won, but mark my words to HELL, the truth will come out in the end!" my face paled, and his smile turned into an evil smirk. "You already have a secret of your own, don't you?" he cocked his head to the side, like he was listening to my thoughts. But the moment passed, and his expression returned to normal. "Now, let's go out and paint another lie on your face." with that he stalked out of the room, the door swinging behind him. Well, fuck! I thought, and followed him ot of the room.
BLAIRES POV:
Everyone was still laughing over Jacks triumphant defeat when Zack and Alex came back. The room, which a moment ago was filled with happy chatter, sudenly turned silent. Even the other family's stopped talking to stare. You could feel the tension in the air. No one moved, no one talked. Finally, I couldn't stand the silence. I stood up on my chair and shouted,
"AIN'T NO PUPPET SHOW OVER HERE! GO BACK TO YOUR BUSINESS!" the tension split in half, and everyone busted up laughing. Alex went back to stand with Mel, wrapping his arms around her tightly. He leaned in and whispered something in her ear. She smiled, and turned around to kiss him. It made me happy to see Mel with such a good guy. Especially after all the bad boyfriends she's had. Especially Mason.. I shuddered at the thought of Melinda's abusive ex. We hadn't seen him in a few years, although he had the nasty habit of tracking people down..... Oh well, I wasn't going to think about him now. I was going to live in the moment, this moment. Jack had come back in, and now had his arms around my shoulders, and was humming softly in my ear. I leaned back to look at his face, to make sure he was really there. Yep, the same Greek nose, same messy hair, same big brown eyes that made me melt everytime I saw them. I was going to live here forever. I leaned in and kissed him, quickly, but passionately. I turned back around to face the group, his arm stil wrapped around my shoulder. Everyone looked so happy, even Zack for once. I glanced at Mel, and it was like staring into the sun, she was so blindingly happy. I smiled again, truly happy for the first time in a while. That is, until I saw Alexs face. It was well concealed, but he couldn't hide the grimace from me. That was the face a guilty person would wear.
That was the face of a liar.
