They were sitting on a cliff, watching the village go through the day from far above. Hiccup looked into Astrid's eyes. They were blue satin, shimmering and beautiful.
"So why did Birdclipper go?"
"It's a long story," Hiccup said.
"Tell it.""Well, basically, in summary, I learned that sometimes you have to lose people for what you believe," he said, turning his eyes toward her. "But I would never lose you, not for anything."
She smiled, slapping his face off. "That is for being cheesy. This is for everything else."
Then they kissed, and she knocked him over, sending them both laughing to the ground, and then they simply embraced, and then Hiccup opened his eyes. Miraculously, it was another clear day.
