Chapter 8: Accepted

After I admitted to Jake that I still loved him it was really awkward it had been a few days already. He still asked me at least once a day if I would go on a date with him.

It annoyed both of us it annoyed me because I told him I just wanted to be friends with him. And it annoys him because he knows I like him.

But through all of this I talk to Logan he always been there when Jake and I we're arguing. This wasn't really arguing but we still needed him.

He understood both of our sides but he knew that because I just wanted to be friends that Jake should just understand. Logan told me that he understood he just really wanted me again so he wasn't giving up per say.

I used a lot of my time trying to get all of this off of my mind so I usually read a book, went for a long walk or a jog. I was getting ready for a jog at the moment I had a sports bra, sweatpant type caprese, and a pony tail.

I put my headphones in and started playing music I walked out of my door being sure to lock it, I turned and started jogging down the road I was jogging for a good 30 minutes when I decided to stop at the park for a break.

I sat on the bench and started drinking water well more like gulping down water. I saw a girl approaching me but I just assumed she was looking for a place to sit.

She stopped in front of me with a mean face. "Hey." She said.

"Hey." I replied.

"Are you Addison?" She asked.

"Yes? And who are you?" I replied, looking at her confused.

"I'm Jake's ex, you know the one that broke up with me for you." She said rudly.

"Well Jake and I broke up 3 years ago so I don't know what you're talking about." I said, getting up to leave.

She stopped me by talking. "I don't mean leave me to date you, I mean he left me because of you." She said, in a duh tone.

"What the hell does that mean?" I asked.

"It means he's stupid because he missed you and he could have had me." She said.

"Don't call him stupid!" I yelled at her.

"What?!" She yelled back.

"Who are you?" I questioned.

"My name is Samantha." She answered.

"Well Samantha I think I know the real reason he left." I said, before turning away.

After walking for a few minutes I decided to start jogging. I jogged all the way back to my house and unlocked the door. I closed the door and headed to my room to take a shower.

I picked out clothes to wear and turned the water on I got a text and it said it was from Jake.

To Addison.

'Hey addy.'

To Jake.

'Hey I'm about to jump in the shower I'll text you after."

I put my phone on my bed and started undressing for the shower. I was so sweaty it was the grossest thing ever. I started with my hair and then moved on to my body.

I shaved my legs then turned the water off grabbing a towel. I noticed that I had a missed call from Jake. I thought I told him I would talk to him when I got out of the shower.

I got dressed then walked to my bed sitting on it to call Jake. I dialed his number and waited for him to answer, after a few rings he answered.

"Hey." He answered.

"Hey, I told you I was going to talk to you when I got out of the shower." I replied.

"Yeah sorry about that I got the text after I called you." He said, chuckling a bit.

"Yeah so who is Samantha?" I asked curiously.

"Samantha who?" He asked.

"I don't know she just told me that you broke up with her for me and I wasn't quite sure what she was talking about." I replied.

"Oh I'm sorry don't worry about her she's kind of a bitch." He stated.

"Well yeah I figured that much out." I said and we both started laughing.

"So um about that date do you want to?" He asked, it sounded like he was waiting for me to say no.

I waited a few seconds before answering giving me time to think it over. "You know what Jake? I might as well give it a chance." I replied smiling a little.

He didn't reply at first it's like I could see his face through the phone.

"Oh my gosh are you serious?" He asked.

"Yes." I replied.

"Wow well thank you I have to go addy." He said, before hanging up.
