Prince Luca of Irales is focused solely on being the next heir to the throne. He trains his knights, studies the history and traditions, fights for the people, and that is all. His father King Simms of Irales is a stubborn man, dead set on creating strong allies with neighboring kingdoms, so he orders his obedient son to marry the Princess of Ramila, a spoiled brat, who cares nothing of her people, or his for that matter.
Ember is a servant of the Kingdom of Irales. She tends to the horses. Her parents both passed long before she was of age to remember them. Ember was raised by the local physician, Ferbius. She is dirt poor and as blunt as they come. Unfortunately, her mouth has led her to the wrongs with Princess Francesca of Ramila. Prince Luca agrees to mend the bridge and save her life, on one condition. She owes him a favor.
And what would the Prince of Irales want one week before he is to be wed? An escape.

"What?" I ask. Surely I hadn't heard correctly. How could I possibly help a prince, who can get anything with the snap of a finger?
"You heard me, stable girl," he states sternly, his eyes unwavering. "Times almost up," he shrugs.
But I still haven't said anything. What if it's something bad, really bad? Could I just die now? But if he gets me out, I can give him the slip. I just need to get out of this. "Fine," I huff.
"Awe, stable girl, smile. You know your happy," he smiles, and I feel like accidentally colliding my fist to his jaw.
