Chapter Eight: The Chamber Of Secrets

"Maddie, where were you? It's literally 2 am." Hermione suspected as I walked in.

"Snape, studying." I groaned and muttered.

"Oh, you could have let me help you study. I could even tutor you!"

"Snape, already assigned me a tutor." I said and slopped onto the couch.

"Oh okay, well you look exhausted. Go to sleep." she laughed a little bit.

"I'm trying, 'Mione." I groaned and laughed.

"Hermione, Maddie? Why are you guys awake?" Ron shuffled down the steps. I looked at Hermione and shook my head.

"Just talking." she smiled. Pretty convincing.

"How's my little sister's first few days?" he slopped down beside me.

"They're alright," I said with my obviously tired voice. "not living up to the Weasley smarts though." I looked down.

"You're doing great, Maddie. I'm sure." I smiled, trying to look convinced but really I knew.

"Thanks Ron," I smiled, laying my head on his leg. "you're a good brother." I saw Hermione smile at me before I blacked out.

"Do you think we should wake her?" I heard someone ask.

"I don't know, she was up pretty late last night."

"She might be hungry." I opened my eyes slightly knowing the mention of food. I heard someone laugh.

"That did the trick, Harry." Hermione smiled.

"She's a Weasley, apparently you don't know Ron." I giggled a little bit and smiled, sitting up. I looked in the mirror and my eyes widened.

"What the bloody hell happened to my hair?" my hair was all over the place and it looked knottier than Womping Willow.

"I have to take care of this." I said about to get up.

"Let me help you, I wanna do your hair anyway." Hermione sat me up.

"Thanks 'Mione, you have no clue how bad our hair can get." Ginny smiled, sitting on the couch. I playfully stuck my tongue out at Ginny and she did the same. Harry sat down next to Ginny and I smiled. I always knew they had a thing.

"Hermione, look at them." I whispered up at her as she was brushing my hair.

"It was bound to happen." she smiled slightly and I shrugged. He better not hurt her.

"All done!" Hermione beamed.

"How long did it take?"

"Oh, just under a half an hour." she smiled and I rolled my eyes. Typical Maddie hair.

"Thanks again, Hermione. It truly means a lot." I looked at the two French braids at my sides. She nodded and pulled me out the door where all the guys were waiting.

"Finally." Harry groaned and I laughed with Ginny.

"Struggles of being girls, Potter." I smirked and he pulled me to his side. Breakfast! As we got to the Great Hall, Harry and I sat down in the middle. I felt eyes practically burning into my back and I looked back to see Draco staring at me uncertain.

"Only 8 days left of detention?" Seamus asked and I nodded.

"Thank Merlin because I am starting to think Snape is running out of things for us to do and we don't want that to happen." I burst with sarcasm. I heard a slight clearing of throat behind me. I smiled, you could say, with evil.
