Chapter 8

POV Rebel

I bit into the lions neck trying to satisfy my thirst. I was stupid how could I think I could handle being that close to her. She was probably worrying about where I was but she would have to wait. After the kiss the other night I went home and grabbed clothes then left. I had went to my parents cabin out in the woods to far for humans to reach unless we brought them. Unless they got lucky. I wanted to go back. She needed me but I did not know if I could handle it yet. I finished the lion and went back to the cabin.

POV Ashley

Rebel's mom answered the door.
"Hey sweety what can I do for you?"
"Um is Rebel here?"
"No sweety I'm sorry he is out of town with some friends right now. But I will send him over when he gets back ok."
"Yeah ok." I turned around and walked away with tears in my eyes. What if he just did not want to see me? Why would he leave with out telling me? I mean he would tell me right? I had got home and went to take a shower. His house was a ways from mine so I was sweaty. When I got out I went to make me some food. When I was cooking my dad had came down the stairs. I was silently praying that he would not mess with me today.

Well I was wrong again. He had shoved me up against the counter and threw the hot ass grease from the pan on me. I screamed bloody marry and fell to the floor. He laughed evilly then walked away. I did not think twice about it like when I had got my ribs broke. I went straight to the hospital. I set there waiting for my doctor like normal. It was about five minutes before the nurse called me back. It was another ten minutes before the doctor came in. This time it was my normal doctor.
"Hello Ashley."
"Hi."
"What brings you here today?"
"Um..my dad spilled hot grease on me." I showed him the burns.
"Ok I will get the medicine and be right back."
"Ok take your time." With that he was gone.

He had done what I said and took his time. He had pushed it off for a whole hour which I was greatful for. But he could not push it off anymore. He walked into the room with my medicine and explained to me how to use it. He said if I had any questions call him. I walked out of the hospital into the sun. The heat from my burns and the sun made it feel like it was fire. Like I was literally fire. On my way home I stopped by the park. I sat on the swing watching little kids chase each other. I wish I was little again and maybe it would all be easier. I wish that I could chase people around and not have to worry about live. But I guess you have to grow up sometime right.

It was getting dark so I decided to go home. I did not want to be out when the bad stuff started happening. I was in my bathroom apply the burn cream. It felt good. I would have stood there and done it all night but I had to make it last. I put on some night pants and a sports bra and that was it. The way the burns where it would have hurt to put a shirt on. For some reason as if for one last hope I pushed the button. But he never showed up. So I went to bed just to go back to my nightmares that threatened me every night.
