A few days later, Demi was eating her breakfast. It was one of her days off today and she didn't have any plans. Going through her phone, she scrolled through her contacts. She stopped scrolling when she reached one name. 'Joe'. She smiled a bit at the other names Joe had put on her phone: Joeeey, Joe's the best, DJ Danger, Boyfriend. Her smile faltered a little at the last one. Mustering as much courage as she could, Demi hit the 'call' button.
"Hello, Demi?" his voice came through.
"H-Hey Joe, it's Demi," she answered nervously. 'Stupid!' she thought. 'Of course he knew it was you!'
"Hey," his tone brightened.
She laughed. "I honestly can't believe we both have the same numbers."
"Of course, what happened if you called and got some random person?" he joked.
She laughed again, unable to help it. "So are you busy today?"
"Nah, I've got a day off." He said. "Why? You wanna hang out?"
"Yeah, if that's okay with you." She didn't want to seem too eager or pushy.
"Totally, but Paparazzi's been following me around lately. Let's not hang in public?"
"Sure," Demi said smiling. "You remember where my house is?"
"Yeah, I remember. I'll see you soon, okay?"
"All right, I'll see you soon." She smiled and hung up. Demi and Joe were going to hang out again, like they used to.
About fifteen minutes later, there was a knock on the door. Demi rushed up to open it. "Joe!"
"Demi!" he answered pulling her into a hug. She smiled as she held onto him. Demi missed having his arms around her. She felt so secure and so safe.
Regretfully, she pulled away and led him into the house. "So what do you wanna do?"
"Well, it's summer, and it's really hot outside," Joe told her, giving her a look meaning he had an idea. "We should maybe swim?"
Demi smiled. "I like the idea." She took a look at his shorts and shook her head laughing. "You're ready, aren't you?"
He took off his shirt in response. "Of course I am, Dems!"
She couldn't help it; she laughed again. "Wow, Joe. I'll be back in a few. You can go ahead and go outside." Demi went out to her backyard, wearing her aqua-colored bikini.
Joe looked at her, smirking. "Well, hello there."
She laughed. "Hey!"
"You look even better than you used too...if that's possible."
Demi smirked. "You don't look too bad yourself."
"Oh, please, Demi. These babies are amazing," he bragged pointing to his abs.
She laughed as she slipped into a pool, not even noticing their careless flirting. They played around for a few hours in the pool: dunking each other, splashing, etc. After, they went back inside the house and just hung out. Demi was lying on the couch and Joe was sitting on the floor.
"Hey, Demi? Are you still very ticklish?" Joe asked innocently.
"No..." she said eye him suspiciously.
"Oh, okay, well then this isn't gonna bother you." He sat up and tickled her as she screamed. He grinned and tickled her harder, while she did a mix between laughing and screaming.
"J-J-JOE! S-STOP!" she yelled.
"Not until you admit I'm hot!" he said getting onto the couch.
"NEVER!" She got control of his arms, and pinned him down as she straddled him.
"Damn..." he said looking up at her.
She smirked. "That's what you get." She looked into his eyes. They held each other's gaze, all the smirks and laughs fading until they could only hear their breathing. Joe leaned his head up and Demi leaned hers down.
