Chapter 1 (Thirteen Years Ago, Three Years After That)

Thirteen Years Ago:

Two year old Kibum runs onto the playground excitedly. He loves the park. So much that his cousin tries to bring him everyday to distract him from his parents always working. Its kinda sad. As Kibum was being pushed on the swings by his cousin a very nice black car with tented windows pulls up.

"Hyejin, do you think a famous person is here?" Kibum asks as a little boy gets out.

"No honey. That's just the stuck up rich brat Kim Haneul and his little brother."

Kibum jumps down and goes to the little kid. "I'm Kim Kibum. Who are you?"

"I'm Kim Jonghyun. We have the same last name!"

"I know! Lets be best friends!"

Kibum and Jonghyun ran around playing. Jonghyun would chase poor Kibum around with bugs while Kibum would scream and run. By the time the sun set they were so tired all they did was sit under the slide, Kibum's head against Jonghyun's shoulder while they listened to the older two argue about who's fault it was that they couldn't find the two children.

"Hyung..."

"Yes Kibum?"

"Could your family help mine out... I barely see my parents 'cause they have to work so much to make sure I can live..."

"I wish I could. My parents are greedy. So is my brother. But if I get the money I will make sure that your family can survive and see each other."

"Thank you hyung."

"That's what friends are for."

Three Years After They Meet:

A crying Kibum ran to his and his best friends meeting place. When Jonghyun could see Kibum's shaking form he quickly ran to him.

"Kibum! What's wrong!? Why are you crying?!" An alarmed Jonghyun pulls a crying and shaking Kibum into his chest. "Whatever it is we'll get through it together. I promise."

"I'm moving... to America... we leave tomorrow... my parents are packing everything now..."

Kibum cries even harder at the thought at not being to see his best friend for a long time. He couldn't believe his parents and cousin kept this from him for so long.

Jonghyun couldn't believe what he had heard. "You're... moving... to America... when do leave..." Kibum doesn't reply and continues to cry. "When do you leave Kibum?"

Startled by the slight angered tone Kibum stuttered, "We leave tomorrow..."

"Tomorrow!? You waited till the day before you to tell me you're moving?!"

"I-I didn't kn-know until t-today hyung."

"I hate you Kim Kibum! You're stupid and poor! I don't want to be your friend anymore!"

Jonghyun's eyes widen at what he said. He tried to apologize but Kibum shook his head mumbled a goodbye and ran home. Jonghyun falls to his knees and cries. He didn't mean to say those mean things. He just lost his one true friend because he was stupid.
