One More Time

  Sixteen years later

I sit alone in my office writing permits for people to dig and search in certain areas. It's been eight years since the gang and I stopped treasure hunting, but recently Nathan went looking for Captain Avery's burried treasure with his brother that I've never seen or heard of.

*buzz buzz*

My phone gets a call from a customer that needs certain permits that are almost impossible to get. I answer the phone and begin to argue with the customer about the risks of the certain area they want to dig in. After arguing for a good 10 minutes, I hear the door to my office shut and I jump a little and turn around to see Nate standing in the door way.

"Yea, sure, I'm gonna have to call you back," I tell the customer as I hang up and put my phone on my desk. I leaned up against the desk and stand there in silence waiting for Nate to say something.

"Long time no see," Nate finally says.

"Yea," I laugh in return. He looks at the floor and around the room.

"So, looks like business is doing well," Nate says looking back at me.

"Yea it's doing great!" I reply. "But I'm guessing your not here to get permits for a digging site in Australia," I said tilting my head to the side and raising an eye brown. He smiles and leans up against the wall and looks at his feet.

"No, I didn't come to get permits, I came to ask you for help with this," he said looking at me and handing me a flyer.

"The lost treasure of Ocloments Island?" I read aloud looking at Nate. He nodded.

"Nate, I thought we stopped looking for this stuff, even thought you just recently went looking for Avery's loot," I said a little annoyed.

"Yea, I did that because my brother needed my help. He ended up lying about the help, but we did find the treasure," Nate said trying to back himself up.

"Nate, listen-" I began.

"Don't turn it down yet, Bryllee. Think about it over night," Nate said heading for the door.

"Fine, I'll think about it," I said putting the paper on my bulletin board. Nate left my office and I went back to my computer and and started writing up permits.

*buzz buzz*

"Hello, this is Bryllee Crasher, CEO of Crasher Companies," I said answering my phone not looking at the number.

"Hi Bryllee, it's your real estate owner. I'm calling about the money you owe," the caller said replying to my greeting. What money do I owe?

"Excuse me? What money do I owe?" I asked the caller confused and a little shocked.

"Oh, did you get our email we sent you this morning?"

"Let me check hold on," I said, logging into my email.

"8 MILLION DOLLARS!" I yelled through the phone. I must have made the caller jump because they didn't answer as quick as they did before.

"Yes, 8 million dollars," the caller said calmly.

"Where do you expect me to find 8 million dollars! Let alone 1 million? I obviously still haven't won the power ball," I said to the caller.

"I don't know ma'am, but you'll need it by January 20th or your business will be shut down."

January 20th? That's in three months!

"How the hell do you expect me to get 8 million dollars in 3 months?" I asked. The caller began to talk but I wasn't listening. I was looking at the paper I put on my bulletin board.

"You know what, I'll get you the money by the due date," I told the caller. I hung up and began dialing another phone number.

"Hey Nate, I'll take the job, just tell me when and where."
