go ahead, break my heart
reach through my
wrought iron ribcage
with your slender fingers
snatch the
pulsing
slippery
thing
right out of my chest
slice through it
with your serrated fingernails
pick it apart
piece by piece
tear the damn thing in two
leave it with my battered body
decimated on the floor
that's what you want,
isn't it? so
go ahead, break my heart
