After we had all finished eating, I felt my phone buzz in my pocket. 26 missed calls and 13 texts from Richard. I rolled my eyes, turned my phone off and smiled at the group.
“So, how about that film, guys?” Cel said, holding Harriet’s hand and giving James a Hands off, she’s mine look. We walked through to the TV room, and sat down on one of the many sofas. I sat next to Connor and Harriet, who was sitting close to Cel but looking at James, who was next to Brad and Tristan.
“So what film are we watching?” I said, and got up to look through their vast collection. “How about… The Hunger Games?” Everyone nodded, so I put it in the DVD player and turned on the TV. The film finished around 5pm, so Brad rang the nearest pizza place and ordered 3 large pizzas. Connor got up and asked what we thought about a Harry Potter marathon, and naturally we all agreed. As the pizzas arrived, Connor and I got up at the same time, and both went to get the pizzas. We went into the kitchen and began to deposit the pizzas onto plates. The whole time I felt Connor’s eyes watching my every move. Usually I would be uncomfortable with this, but with Connor, everything felt natural. I turned towards him as he came near me and felt his fingers run up my arm. It sent shivers down my spine, and I clasped his other hand with mine. As his hand reached my shoulder, I looked up at him. His hand slid down to my waist and pulled me close. I could feel his heart beating against his chest. As I wrapped my arms around his neck, he brought his lips to mine. His kiss was soft and sweet, and he tasted like a delicious mix of buttery popcorn and diet Coke. He slowly slipped my hoodie off my shoulders, and my bare skin tingled at his touch. His hands began to move under the hem of my vest, when we heard James’ voice.
“Guys? Are you almost done with the…” He trailed off when he saw us, our bodies pressed against each other. “Oh, I’m interrupting something. Sorry! You guys carry on, I’ll just, um, get the pizza…” He said awkwardly.
“No, no, it’s fine, we’ll come back and carry on watching the film. Come on, Soph, grab some pizza and some plates.” The three of us carried the pizza boxes and the plates through to the others. As we sat down again, I felt Connor’s arm rest around my shoulders. I nestled into his chest and felt his radiating warmth going through my body. Harriet looked at me and mouthed, “Did you two…” and I nodded back to her. She smiled happily at me, and looked at James longingly, then looked back towards Cel, almost sadly. After three films and three tubs of ice cream, I began to feel tired. As Tristan dimmed the lights, I looked up at Connor. He looked at me, and I felt his lips brush lightly aginst my forehead. I closed my eyes and fell into a deep sleep, full of dreams about Connor.
