We drove to the airport, laughing and talking with each other. I ignored Victoria as much as I could, and Harriet, Amy, James, Connor, Brad, Tristan and I were just messing around with inside jokes that she didn’t understand. The horrible, evil little person inside me was happy about this. We got to the airport just before 9, and Joe was waiting for us near the entrance.
“Okay, somehow the fans found out which airport you guys were at and they’re here. Just keep your eyes open and be nice to them. You need to go to terminal 3.” This was how he greeted us. He gave Amy, Harriet and me a quick hug and walked off.
“So… We have about 3 hours until the fli-“ Brad was cut off by a group of screaming girls running over to us. As they began to hug the boys, one of them knocked my phone out of my hand. As I bent down to pick it up, Victoria stepped backwards and trod on it with her heels.
“Shit, Victoria! You just smashed my phone!” The first interaction I had with her all day was this.
“Ohmigod, I’m so sorry! I didn’t see it there!” She tried to help me up but I pushed her away. The boys were still signing things and taking photos, and more fans had come over by now. After about an hour of waiting around awkwardly, James began to try and walk away as we had to check in. The other boys followed and we finally were free to go towards the terminal. We handed our luggage in, walked through the metal scanners – only Brad got ‘felt up’ – and we got onto the other side. I noticed an Apple store and walked over, pulling Connor after me and the rest of the group following. When Harriet, James, Brad, Victoria, Tristan and Amy started playing on the iPads, Connor and I went over to an assistant and asked what kind of phone I should get. About 10 minutes later, we walked out, me holding an Apple store bag containing my old phone and a box for a blue iPhone 5C which was in my hand.
“Bloody hell, that’s beautiful!” Harriet said, reaching for it. I slapped her hand and connected to the airport’s Wi-Fi. I opened up the App Store and downloaded all the apps I had had on my old phone. After Twitter had downloaded and everyone had added their numbers, I tweeted ‘Yay! New iPhone 5C – thank you @ToriJonesYeah for breaking my old one and @TheVampsCon for buying me a new one #loveyoucon!’ He favourited it and retweeted it, and soon our mentions were going crazy. James decided that now was a good time to do another video.
“So, we’re at the airport now, and Soph’s just bought a new phone.” He said.
“We’ve got ages until the flight so tweet us your questions and we might reply!” Brad continued.
“We might follow some of you as well – and the girls will help us answer!” Connor said, as James panned round to us.
“Live long and prosper!” Tristan shouted and turned the camera off. Hundreds of tweets came in, asking things like whether Connor and me were having a baby, whether Harriet and James were engaged and whether I was secretly dating Alex Pettyfer. The last one confused me, because I hadn’t heard from him since the premier. I replied ‘Not as far as I know! Where have you heard we are? X” I soon got a link back and looked at it. A picture of me with Alex’s arm around my shoulders was at the top, with the caption Could Sonnor be turning into Settyfer? I showed Connor and he laughed.
“Come on, this can’t seriously be bothering you! I know you’re not going out!” He kissed my cheek as I felt my phone buzz. ‘Hey, just heard you’re coming to LA, do you want to meet up sometime? Alex xx’ I smiled as I replied saying yes.
