You used to be my flame.
The fire,
In my eyes.
In my mind.
In my heart.
And now the only flame I've encountered, is within the burning metal of my lighter.
To relax.
To feel.
To forget.
They say love is black and white, but truly its grey.
The clutter.
The blur.
The smoke.
After its over, the smoke becomes you're true love.
Its always there.
Its grey.
Its honest.
It helps numb you, the burn.
The burn of the lighter under your thumb.
The burn of your throat and lungs.
The burn of the smoke from the unlit flame behind your eyes.
It makes it all go away, the pain.
You begin to forget.
You begin to breathe.
You begin to live.
It'll be okay without them, eventually.
They were toxic.
They were unhealthy.
They were wrong.
Wrong for me, and my life.
So with this flame.
I say goodbye.
I say hello.
I say fuck you.
