1. There's such a thing as heteronormativity.
2. The writers have already made it pretty clear that l*caya isn't going to happen.
3. If Rilaya can't happen because they're 'sisters' then l*caya can't happen because Maya doesn't want a 'nice guy'
4. Might I remind you that Riley called Lucas her brother, but now she's dating him. That makes your point invalid.
5. The show has already broken a lot of Disney's 'rules' and Disney has already had LGBT rep, so who says GMW won't get to be the first Disney show with a lead gay couple?
This ship is more compatible than any other ship on this show. The writers have hinted at rilaya multiple times. I have full faith in this ship, and a lot of other people do too. They very well may make this ship canon, so rilaya shipper or not, you should not be coming to me with this kind of comment.
