Monopoly Money

It consumes your waking moments

and haunts you in the night

Frenzy over missed opportunities

Obsessing over things you cannot buy

Suppose you get it –

all the wealth that you desire...

The taxman cometh, your deathbed calls

the moth destroys, the flesh expires

There is no ship to bear such things

beyond the curtain, beyond your dreams

You have only your soul that passes through

The redeemed with Christ to Heaven anew

The rebellious to burn in a Hellish stew

Each in turn offered life...

    yet some refused

2 Pet 3:8-10  Beloved, do not let this one thing escape your notice: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. The Lord is not slow to fulfill His promise as some understand slowness, but is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.  But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar, the elements will be dissolved in the fire, and the earth and its works will not be found.

1 Tim 6:10  For the love of money is a root of all sorts of evil, and some by longing for it have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.
