JACK GILINSKY'S POV

When I wake up, I see that Ana is rolled over onto her side, facing away from me. I see the back of her sweatpants, and the sheets, were covered in blood.

"Ana," I say as I shake her by the shoulder. "Baby."

She wouldn't budge, must be pretty tired. Poor girl.

I quickly get up and grab my wallet as I slip my feet into some Birkenstocks. They were so comfy.

I head to the closest Walmart and go to the women's area. You know, the place where the tampons and other necessities were.

I walked through the isle, where I saw a young girl. She didn't seem to notice me, maybe she didn't know who I was.

I looked through the shelves, confused on what to get. I quickly dialed my mom's number, and she didn't pick up. I sigh.

The girl looks at me, "Jack?"

I look at her. Her face held a funny expression.

"What're you doing here?" she asks me.

"I'm buying tampons and pads for Ana, you know Ana, right? Well she- you know," I looked at the shelves again.

"Y-yes. I know Ana," she stutters. "Jack, Ana is pregnant. She shouldn't-"

My phone rang and I held my finger up, signaling the girl to hold on.

"Mom!" I say into the phone. "I need your help."

"With what?" she asks.

"Ana started her period, so I need you to tell me which tamp-"

"She what?"

"She started her period."

"Jack, she's pregnant," my mom says.

"I know that."

"You don't have your period when you're pregnant, why do you say she is?"

"There was blood on everything, I just assumed," I said, feeling a little nervous.

"Well didn't she know there was blood everywhere?" my mom asks.

"She was asleep, and when I tried telling her, she wouldn't wake up," I answer.

"Jack, go home right away and call an ambulance. Now."

I fumbled my phone around, trying to dial 911.

"911, what is your emergency?" the lady says into the phone as I run to my car.

"Yes, my name is Jack Gilinsky. My girlfriend is pregnant, and she is bleeding very badly from down there," I struggle to say as I run.

"Sir, how much blood is there?" she asks as I hear the typing.

"Um- I'm not sure. I thought she started her period, but my mom told me to call you. I came to Walmart to buy her tampons," I said as I started my car and pulled out of my parking space.

"What is the address?"

I quickly tell her the address.

"Ambulances are on the way, Sir. Please try to remain calm, and get home soon. What is her name?"

"Ana Mitchell," I answer.

"Okay. Was Ana awake?"

"No, I tried telling her. She wouldn't wake up."

"Okay."

"Is she going to be okay?" I asked as tears filled my eyes.

"I can't say, Jack. I am sorry. How close to home are you?"

"I'm pulling into the driveway. I can hear the sirens," I sob.

"Do not go inside. Wait for the paramedics and lead them to the room, it'll save so much more time," she tells me.

"Okay," I say as I unlock the door and prop it open. "I'm going to hang up now."

"Okay. Just let them do their job. Tell them what they want to know, and stay out of the way."

"Okay, thank you," I hang up the phone.

The paramedics finally get to my house. Two of them grab the gurney. I lead them all to the room where Ana laid.

One of them tried to get her conscious. The two men carrying the gurney propped it up. Another paramedic asked for her name.

"Ana," I replied.

"Ana," he said to her. "Wake up, hon."

He flashed his little light into her eyes. I don't know what that did, I just wanted them to get her to a hospital.

"She's barely breathing, let's get her to the ambulance right away," one called.

The used an air thingy to pump air into her. I watched in horror as they all scurried around to get her onto the gurney.

I followed them out of the door and into the ambulance.
