"Remember your recording of all 12 minor scales are due by next Wednesday." Mr. Johnson finishes up the class allowing us to pack up our instruments. As I was taking my neck strap off I feel a hand rest on my shoulder making me jump. "Asher! You scared me!" I laugh holding a hand to my chest. "Sorry, I just have some news I wanted to tell you." Me? Why would he want to tell me something?"Look," he says while pulling out a paper from his bag,"I got a B+ on my chemistry test." He says wearing a prideful smile. I hop up from my chair and fling my arms around his neck. "That's amazing! I'm so glad all that work paid off! I mean it's been four solid days of after school tutoring!" I laugh. I let my hands fall to his shoulders while Asher still grips my waist.
"Thank you. I really needed the help." He says with a small smile playing on his lips. I smile back and gaze into his captivating copper eyes. He looks truly happy but there's also something else in his eyes that I can't quite figure out. It's then I realize that we're just standing here in the middle of the band room holding and staring in thought at each other.
I awkwardly bring my hands behind my back and step back only to trip on my saxophone case behind me. As if this moment couldn't have gotten anymore awkward. I'm awaiting my inevitable thump of me hitting the ground but it doesn't come. Instead I feel a strong pair of hands grab hold of my forearms.
"Now I knew you liked me, but jeez I didn't know you were starting to fall for me." I tense up, falling? No....Right? I glance up again to see Asher's overly smug smirk on his face. A super hot smirk though. "What? Do I have something on my face? Well, I mean other than my devilishly good looks."
God now I'm staring too. Say something your being creepy! Pull yourself together! I shake my head a little to pull myself out of my reverie. "Don't flatter yourself." I say brushing myself off and picking up my book bag and saxophone.
"Oh honey that wasn't flattery, that was stating the facts." He says taking my saxophone from my hand. "Sure sure. By the way that goes in the locker over there, thanks!" I don't even protest to him putting it away for me so I use this time as an escape.
As I'm about to rush out the door he catches up to me, "Thought you could get rid of me that easy?" I tap my chin and tilt my head towards the ceiling, "hmm, let me think... Yes. Yes I did."
He leans in and I can feel his breath on my neck, "You're going to have to try a lot harder than that.", as he speaks his lips brush against my ear causing me to shiver at the touch.
"Maybe I don't want to get arid of you." I say and then saunter away and without even waiting to hear his response, I turn the corner into the commons.

*ding ding* "Oh look, B has yet another text from Daniel." Dallas studies my phone from over my shoulder. "Yes, I do. He's a really cool guy... In fact he want to hang out this weekend."
"Oh my fuck. Finally." Kat squeals. "My ears! Look I know I don't hang out with many guys but could you tone it down a bit?" Kat rolls her eyes before answering in a calm manner, "What has he got planned?"
"Well, it's not anything special but he's taking me to a party." The two shoot each other looks and then simultaneously give me scolding glares. "You plus parties are a bad mix." Kat says and Dal adds in, "And you know what parties mean? Alcohol. And you my friend have a certain familiarity with alcohol. Not a good one might I add."
"Why do you guys always think I'm a drunk?! I just drink a little! I'm very Irish remember." Dal crosses her arms and gives me a disapproving look. "Plus, I have a very high tolerance level." They don't seem phased by my sad attempt at reassurance.
"Fine, I promise I'll monitor the amount of drinks I consume. I get buzzed after around 3 to 4 so I'll be fine if I stay under 5. Plus I don't get drunk drunk until closer to 10!" I say plastering on a fake grin.
"I'm going to tell Daniel not to allow you more than 3." Dal says all authoritative-like. "What?! Come on at least 4." She gives me her infamous death glare that's truly terrifying and I cave. "Fine 3. But you owe me a drink afterwards. Ok? Ok." I rush off of the table and into the crowd so she can't protest.
My victory dash is short lived when I crash into a hard wall. A hard wall that laughs. A wall that is lifting my chin up with his finger.
"Already missed me I see?" Ugh. "I was actually trying to avoid more confrontation from my friends till I ran into your fucking brick wall of a body."
"Why thank you! I mean I wouldn't say brick but definitely rock hard." And the boy had the nerve to wink. I lean my weight on my right leg and cross my arms over my front. "That kind sir was not a compliment. You actually hurt my nose." I grab my nose and rub it for effect.
"Oh damn sorry." He says rubbing the back of his neck. Daym those by biceps. I am deceased. That is so fucking hot. "Erm...er...yeah I'm gonna go now I'll um... Yeah. Bye!" I say and take off towards my next class. God I've done an awful lot of running today these people are going to kill me!
