Ch 29 : Promise to Protect

Yahallo, Your Majesties~! Here is the long-awaited Karuizawa climax chapter! Banzai banzai xD

Anyway, this picks up where it left off, the morning of Hikaru and Haruhi's date (which by the way, Haruhi was totally cute in that episode/chapter) If you think last chapter was intense with Kaoru and Ielle's talk, this chapter's scene will top that!

I'll try and pour my heart out with that scene so that you guys can feel the tension hihi!

Yosha! I don't own OHSHC cause Hikaru and Kaoru should have ended up with someone who is able to tell them apart and appreciate their individuality. Personally, I want to be that person for Kaoru xD

3rd POV

The next morning, Hikaru woke up to a coughing Kaoru who asked a favor from him.

To accompany Haruhi on a date in town that day.

And so, here they were in town. Hikaru in all his lazy but still fashionable glory and Haruhi in a dress.

WAIT! A DRESS???

Yes. Haruhi was wearing a dress with extensions clipped on so that she would have pigtails on. She even had on some makeup. Quite beautiful more than the usual.

"Huh? Where's Kaoru?" Haruhi asked, confused as to why Hikaru was the one who showed up when she was supposed to go out with Kaoru.

"He has a cold", was all Hikaru's reply.

"Really?" Haruhi wondered back to this morning when Kaoru helped her get ready. "Should we go back?"

"Nah...", Hikaru scratched the back of his neck, thinking back to his talk with Kaoru.

"Got it, Hikaru? Today you must escort Haruhi until sundown and see that she has a good time! I'll be so angry if you upset her or come back halfway through! I won't talk to you again!" Or so Kaoru said.

Hikaru realized what his brother had done and slumped down by a street post.

'Sheesh... What the... What the heck was Kaoru thinking...?'

"Hikaru, are you sick too? You're not feeling well?" Haruhi asked.

"I'm fine"

Meanwhile, a few feet away from was the host club--sans Erei and Kyrie--in unusually fitting disguises. Tamaki started ranting on and on about why Hikaru has to go on a date with Haruhi after what happened yesterday. To add fuel to his fire, Honey supplied his two cents to the situation: that this might be Haruhi's first date. Tamaki whined about how adorable Haruhi looked when she was on a date with Hikaru and how it was unfair.

The 'couple' seemed to have notice the noise and turned around. The hosts had hid just in time. Kaoru then said that it's a good thing for Hikaru to find more people who matter to him, as he thinks back to what Ielle/Erei and Kyrie had told him two days ago. That for a long time, their only concern was each other and nobody else outside their world mattered. Hikaru was especially immature and acts out his feelings without restraints. He's not conscious of it but that Hikaru cares about Haruhi a lot.

"But all he knows is how to throw his feelings at others, so he ends up acting like a possessive kid", Kaoru mutters, remembering Hikaru's outburst. "Even when he wants recognition as a friend, he doesn't know how to go about it."

Kaoru rubs his head a bit while looking far away.

"If he wants to be a real friend, he's got to respect the feelings of others too. So I think Hikaru has to learn... the basics of personal interaction"
