Chapter 5

My blue eyes fluttered open to see that I was on something like a hospital bed.

"Guys! She's awake! Go get Griff and Ravi!" An all too familiar voice shouted.

"Xander?" I say, but it barely came out in a whisper.

"Harper! I'm so glad you're okay!" Xander said, hugging me.

I felt like I couldn't move.

"I can't move." I tell Xander.

Xander lets go of me. "Hazel! We need some medicine!" Xander shouted.

Hazel ran in and handed Xander a small cup of liquid.

"Drink this." Hazel told me and ran back out.

I nodded and gave a small smile before drinking the medicine.

It tasted like crap, but I had to whack it back.

I handed the cup back to Xander and slowly began to feel my limbs.

I stood up just as Griff and Ravi came in, eyes red and puffy a bit from...crying?

Griff ran over to me and hugged me really tight, almost suffocating me. I went with it and hugged him back.

"I thought I lost you. You almost died! You were dead for a minute, your heart stopped!" Griff informed me.

I smiled and let out a small laugh.

"How long was I out?" I ask Griff.

Griff's eyes well up with tears a bit.

"Almost a month." Griff told me.

My eyes widened at how long I had been in comatose.

"I'm so sorry!" I whispers and cry into Griff's shoulder.

"I thought I lost you." Griff whispered.

I let out a small laugh.

"You would have to pht me through the Sahara Desert, Antartica, the Andes Mountains, Russia, Rio de Janeiro, and volcanoes to lose me. Even through hell and back you wouldn't lose me." I tell Griff.

Griff smiles and cups my face in is hands, using his thumb to wipe my tears away.

I felt warm at his touch and leaned into it.

Griff and I looked into each other's eyes for a few minutes.

I felt drawn to him.
