I was confused with his question. Did Xavier really ask to touch my butt? What a creep.
"How is that beneficial to me," I asked.
"You'll get to feel the best ass rub in your life," he stated.
I looked at him like he was crazy. This man can't be serious. I'm sorry mister but I'm not that easy. Have some confidence in yourself, you're not easy at all.
I looked into Xavier's eyes once more and saw something I haven't seen in a person at all: pain & experience. His eyes told a story that his heart wouldn't tell and for some reason I wanted to know.
I walked away from Xavier continuing my original path, he grabbed my hand making me look back at him.
"So is that a no," he questioned with a grin.
"I'm not that kinda girl. Don't let the dress fool you," I replied with a smirk.
He let go of my hand and walked away from me. I turned around and once again I was blocked by another person; Justin. Damn can I get where I need to go?
He gave me a look that I knew exactly what his mind is thinking. He was pissed. He looked at every detail of my body, from head to toe. Sending those never ending chills down my spine. He had one emotion written on his face; anger. He grabbed my arm forcefully and lead me out the Gym doors that lead to outside. I glanced down to my watch and evaluated that we only have five minutes until the bell rings for 3rd period. He better make this quick.
My back was against the wall and he stood in front of me. He placed his hands on each side of my head; making my head in the middle of his hands. Is he going to kiss me?
"You and him cannot be Delilah," he said in rage.
"Who are you talking about," I asked.
I had an idea that Justin was talking about Xavier, but I had to be sure.
"This is not the time for you to act dumb and innocent Delilah! You know exactly who I'm talking about!"
Did he just call me dumb?
"You better get head out your ass and realize who you are talking to! I'm not gonna let you stand here and disrespect me like that asshole," I exclaimed.
I pushed Justin off me and walked away from him. Only to have him block my path once more.
"I'm sorry. I didn't mean what I said, just hear me out Delilah," he said. Pain and sadness written all over his face.
I gave him a look to tell him that I was listening but I still haven't forgiven him yet.
"You look stunning today. Happy Birthday," he said with a sad grin.
I wasn't going to let him suck me into his charm that easily so I continued showing my blank face and simply said, "Thank you."
"Please don't be mad at me. I just lost it when I saw Xavier trying to make a move on you. He's no good for you; for the three years that I've been here, I've seen what he does to girls like you and it would hurt my soul if you end up being a victim."
"Okay and I understand that, trust me I do. Cameron already gave me a lecture on this. It's not like I'm marrying the guy and don't you think that I know what's good for me? I mean after all it's my life," I stated.
"You're right Delilah. All I wanted to do is to look out for you. Looks like you can handle this on your own," he said as he took a step back from me.
The bell ranged signaling the transition to 3rd period. I saw Justin place his hands in his pockets, him looking down at the pavement. Once the bell ranged he raised his head and hurt was all I saw. It killed me to know that I placed that their; that I made him feel that way, but I have to be strong and stand my ground.
I slowly walked to the Gym doors hoping he would interrupt my path once again so we don't end this on a bad note. It was like he knew exactly what I was thinking. He grabbed my arm and spun me around into his warm embrace. I took a deep breathe as he tightened the hold on me. I wanted be suffocated in his arms forever. He took a step back and kissed my forehead. Losing my breathe in the process; it was the first time his lips met any part of my skin. He sniffed my scent near my ear and whispered to me, "Happy Birthday sweetheart."
