Now, don't hate me, but I'm basing this one-shot off the dubbed version of Servamp solely because Mikuni is more western and cowboy-ish in the dub and he says "my darlin'" a lot which I think would sound really sweet in a one-shot scenario.

Don't get me wrong, I've seen both the dub and and the sub and I love both of them, but I always get people tell me that dubbed anime is horrible so I just wanted to clear this up before I start writing and you all get confused.

Being the younger girlfriend of the Eve of the Servamp of Envy - Doubt Doubt - (f/n) sure did have a lot of doubt.

Not about herself or her relationship with Mikuni, but about the age gap and the constant risk of people finding out.

With (f/n) being eighteen, and Mikuni being twenty-three, the age gap wasn't too wide, but it was wide enough to be subject to a lot of judgmental people coming their way.

Mikuni didn't much care for what anybody else thought about his relationship with (f/n). As long as she and him were happy, then that was all he really cared about.

But, with (f/n) still being in her last year of high school, she couldn't really deal with being picked on at the same time as struggling with her entrance exams, which was what brought on her doubt and insecurity.

She fully well knew that Mikuni would never leave or betray her, but (f/n) still couldn't help but feel those small traces of doubt whenever she was with the antique dealer, and it was starting to eat away at her insides like termites.

"M-Mikuni?" (f/n) asked timidly, popping her head round the front door of his antique shop and looking around.

"(f/n)!" Mikuni exclaimed, opening the door wider so he could see her fully. "Come in, come in!"

The girl smiled shyly in thanks before stepping into the antique shop and hugging herself. Even though the shop was quite warm, she still couldn't help but feel cold because of the nerves knocking at the back of her brain.

"Are you cold?" The Eve asked when he noticed her shivering, and (f/n) nodded.

Mikuni smiled and held his arms out for (f/n) to take. When she saw how welcoming his long arms looked and how much he genuinely cared for her, the girl just broke down into tears, and Mikuni was so confused all of a sudden.

"(f/n), why are you crying, my darlin'?" He asked sympathetically, taking a step towards his sobbing girlfriend and hugging her tightly.

(f/n) immediately hugged Mikuni back and began crying into his chest as he rubbed her back up and down reassuringly.

"I've got a lot of doubt, Mikuni," she sobbed, her voice muffled by the fabric of Mikuni's shirt but he still heard her nonetheless.

And even though the man was so darn confused he still rested his chin on-top of (f/n)'s head and shushed her gently.

"Let me lock up the shop and then we can talk about it, ok?" He said, letting go of (f/n) briefly to change the sign on the front of the shop door to closed and lock the door before he grabbed her hand and led her behind the counter to sit on his lap while he sat down on the desk chair behind it.

Wrapping his arms securely around (f/n)'s waist so she wouldn't fall off, Mikuni tucked a piece of stray hair behind her ear before asking her what was wrong, but not before giving her his scarf to wear for the time being.

"I'm just worried about what people will say if they ever found out about us; I can't really deal with people judging me all the time since I need to focus on my studies and I don't want others to make a big deal out of us just because you're a little older than me and-"

Mikuni started to chuckle softly, and (f/n) looked at him in confusion as to why he was laughing at her when she was feeling upset.

"Why are you...?"

"(f/n), darlin', we don't have to tell anybody about our relationship if you don't want to," he reassured, and (f/n) bit the inside of her cheek. "As long as you're happy, I'm happy."

"But, isn't it putting strain on your life?" She asked nervously, averting her gaze from Mikuni's.

Another chuckle. "Darlin', my life is perfect right now. I have the most beautiful girlfriend a guy could ever ask for, and that's all I need. And if people do start asking questions as to why you're always coming here everyday, then just tell them that you're working part-time at my antique shop. That should keep them satisfied, ok?"

(f/n) hesitated but nodded, and Mikuni let his hand touch the side of her face, and when she looked at him, he made no delay in pressing his lips against hers gently and lovingly.

"I love you," he whispered against her lips once they pulled away, and (f/n) leaned her forehead before quickly kissing his lips again.

"I love you too."
