Tetsu Sendagaya ~ Dreams

I've read a lot of Soulmate AU fanfic *cough* Haikyuu!! *cough cough* and these ideas seem really cool. Sadly, I can't remember who wrote them and I can't be bothered to go through my endless library of Haikyuu!! fics to find out. Sorry!

Soulmate AU in which you can only dream about your soulmate until you meet them.

Everyone knew Tetsu was kinda stupid, but they didn't know he was this stupid.

He never really understood the concept of soulmates, but then again no one really did until they turned around thirteen.

But with Tetsu turning fifteen soon and still not understanding how he was supposed to meet his soulmate, everyone was getting a little worried.

How it worked was everyone dreamed about their soulmate until they finally met them in real life, and vice versa.

So that meant that Tetsu was constantly dreaming about (f/n) and that (f/n) was constantly dreaming about Tetsu.

He knew what his soulmate looked like and everything - as his dreams never lied - but he never understood why he was always dreaming about her.

It took Misono and Mahiru two hours to explain what those dreams meant, and even after that Tetsu was still confused.

(f/n), on the other hand, knew everything about soulmates.

Her mother had made sure to inform her about everything and even gave her some tips on how to meet her soulmate, which wasn't really necessary considering both Tetsu and (f/n) lived in the same area.

But she never knew that her soulmate would be so clueless about meeting her when he actually met her.

"What is it, Sendagaya?" Misono asked when he caught his friend off guard as they were walking through the streets.

"Nothing, it's just..." Tetsu started, squinting a little so he could see better. "I recognise that girl over there."

Misono and Mahiru looked in the direction of which Tetsu was looking to look at this "girl", and when they both decided they had never met her before, the situation was pretty obvious.

"She's your soulmate, you bastard," Misono responded, not even surprised at this point. "She's been in your dreams every night."

"Huh, I thought I recognised her from somewhere," Tetsu shrugged, turning to continue walking away from (f/n) and to where he was originally planning to go.

"Woah, woah, woah, where are you going?!" Misono shrieked, turning Tetsu back around. "She's your soulmate, are you an idiot?"

Mahiru laughed gently before shoving Tetsu over to (f/n), who was casually admiring an outfit in the window of a shop.

When she saw Tetsu get pushed towards her by a short, brown-haired kid, she turned around and smiled at them both.

"Can I help you?" She asked, and Mahiru stepped in front of Tetsu to speak to the girl.

"Yeah, this guy thinks you may be his soulmate," he said politely, nudging Tetsu.

(f/n)'s gaze switched from Mahiru to Tetsu, and it took her a few long seconds to register the face she had seen in her dreams.

"Oh my gosh, you are!" She gasped, her smile widening at the sight of her - very attractive - soulmate standing in front of her. "I'm sorry, I haven't been sleeping very well lately and my dreams have been sorta messed up. But I can't believe it's really you!"

(f/n) suddenly wrapped her arms Tetsu's waist, as she was probably up to his chest in height, and Tetsu stood stiff for a moment before hugging her back.

"That bastard's finally learnt, huh?" Misono asked, his arms folded stubbornly across his chest, when Mahiru came back.

"Yep," Mahiru answered with a nod and the two watched as Tetsu and (f/n) talked in the middle of the street, not really caring that they were blocking the path.

"Wonder how long it's gonna take for him to ask her out," Mahiru said and Misono scoffed.

"Probably another fourteen years."
