Maven looked at me waiting for my decision.
I blinked.
And then I screamed in anguish at the evil boy before me and I screamed for Kilorn, my best friend, and I screamed for Gisa, who couldn't ever embroider anything beautiful again because of these god-forsaken Silvers. I screamed for my broken abandoned prince Cal, waiting for me to end this all. I screamed because my heart was torn in a million pieces, shattered like Maven's soul.
And as I screamed, electricity zapped and sizzled everywhere in the palace hall.
The Silencers looked wildly at Maven, silently pleading not to be killed.
Maven's face I could not read, but later, I did not doubt he was at least a small amount taken back.
"Mare. Stop your silly tantrum this instant." Maven sighed at me.
What?! Why wasn't he cowering at my feet?!
And then I realized I couldn't do anything. Kilorn and Gisa had been dragged towards Maven and now were being used almost like human shields.
Right at that moment I realized truly what a wicked twisted being stood before me and held me capture.
I slowly calmed down but kept two sizzling purple sparks in my hands, pointing towards Maven.
Maven laughed. "Oh, Mare. Feelings are for fools. You are so vulnerable. Good thing my brother, as if I can call him that, after he killed our father!-"
"You bastard! That was all you and your puppet master mother" I spit out the words "and you know it."
"Oh, come off it. What I was going to say before I was very rudely interrupted, is I found my 'brother' hiding with these two and oh! Here he is! Say your last goodbyes to your little broken, abandoned prince, Mare."
"AHH! HOW CAN YOU READ MY MIND YOU LITTLE DEVIL!" I yelled at him.
Ok, ok! This wasn't the best chapter but I need it cause I'm building up to stuff! I promised to have Chapter 3 up today and I literally am writing this on my phone on my schoolbus to go home. I've been to busy reading "Kim Kardashian Stuck in Her Game" which btw is actually a really interesting book for me.
