Chapter 22
We came back home early.
Matthew and Caleb were already at the airport.
They meted us and Caleb said “Sorry we ruined your vacation.”
I smiled at Caleb and said “Thank you for taking care of our house.”
“No problem.” He said
“How’s Parker?” I asked him.
“His very well.” He answered.
“Matthew would you like to meet my best friend Jamie?” I asked him.
“Would be delighted too.” He said.
Then we went to his car and started to drive home.
Matthew, pulled over and stopped at Raleigh’s house. I wanted to go to my house.
“Raleigh can I check my house now?” I asked him.
He looked at Matthew and Caleb.
“Lia, everything will be changed now. You can’t be alone for a while until we sort things out.” Raleigh said.
“Oh okay, sorry.” I said and looked at them.
“Come on, let’s check it.” He said.
We went inside my house and nothing’s changed and I saw the letter that says
‘Nearly 21 and I’m coming to claim you as you owe my your life’
I went to my bedroom and check for everything and Raleigh was following me.
“Lia, you have to stay at my house. You can’t be alone for a while.” He told me.
I just nodded. I don’t want to start arguing I neither don’t want to see Dylan’s face again.
Morning came and I woke up looking at Raleigh’s face. I kissed his forehead and whispered “Good morning handsome.”
I went down and shot myself insulin. And start preparing to work. I prepared breakfast and heard Raleigh coming down.
He came to me and said “Good morning” and kissed me.
“What time’s your work?” he asked me.
“Starts at 9” I answered him.
“Okay, I’ll drop you by. I think I’ll start working at Johnson’s too.” Then he smiled at me.
We ate together and he said “Lia, what do you want for your birthday?”
I asked him “What do you mean?”
“A party? Or what?” he asked.
