Day 313

"Are you ready?" Samuel asks.

"Yeah. Come in." I say trying to staighten the costume.

I look hideous.

Samuel walks in.

Wait for it..

".....What is that?" He says almost laughing but puts a hand on his mouth.

"Not. A. Word." I say shooting my best glare.

He doesn't seems to take my threat seriously as he bursts out laughing.

"Hell no, please tell me you don't plan on going like that!" He says in all seriousness.

I swear to god he is bipolar.

"As a matter of fact, I am."

You cannot wear that orange coloured flowery shirt on top of those black and neon ugly pants." He says frowning.

"These pants are part of the costume." I say scowling at the mirror.

"But the shirt isn't." He says and then goes out.

I am not looking that hideous!

"Here, put this on." He says throwing a little big dark blue shirt at me.

"It belongs to my sister. This is the smallest she has and way better than what you are wearing." And walks out.

So bossy...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Curls suit you." He says.
I roll my eyes.
"You are supposed to tell me that I look presentable." I say stomping my foot.
He grins.
"Red lipstick suits you."
"So do I look presentable?" I ask.
His grin widdens.
"Neon looks hideous on you."
I glare at him, funnily smiling.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

"So is he coming?" Katie asks.

The sun is setting. We are sitting on the green grass, Katie in her amazing costume while I am in my neon and black striped pant.

Life isn't fair.

"Who?" I ask.

"Samuel, who else?"

I scrunch my eyebrows. "Why would he?"

"Why wouldn't he?" Katie asks.

"I don't know, maybe because I didn't ask him?"

Katie rolls her eyes.

"Where is Max?" I ask.

Katie raises her eyebrow. I roll my eyes.

"My position in the dance depends on him. I have to stand parallel to him."

And just then I see him. Even with the ridiculous costume on, I can't deny he looks fine.

At the same time I see my mom walk in from the main gate. I smile. I really appreciate that she comes to see all my efforts.

But my Herat skips when I see she is not alone.

"He is here." I say with a stupid smile.

Katie gives me a knowing look.

"I don't even have to say anything Emmy, you know it. You have no feelings for Max. You probably never had. Even if you did, thank God you realised your worth. You could do much better."

I purse my lips an look back to where I saw Samuel.

He smirked at me and I give him a small smile.

"And he's cute."

I shrug.

"He has to be. After all, he is my best friend."
