For so long, I wondered in this wilderness,
Deserted and with nowhere to go.
Life was dark like the nights,
And in the darkest night, I found my treasure,
You were bright up high in the skies,
Always being there, guiding me like the north star.

The North Star or Polaris, is the brightest star in the constellation.
It's very close to the north celestial pole, making it the northern pole star.
People for ages have followed this start to get through wilderness.
