When Bella and Edward went to the other Cullens, Denalis and the pack after the fight nothing could have prepared Bella for the seen.
The wolf form of Jake was completely wounded. Bella hated knowing he was hurt because of fighting for her.
"The pack needs to get out of here." Alice abruptly said. "The Volturi. They're coming. They will not like that we are acquainted with the wolves. It will cause a scene." She said.
Just about five minutes after the wolves left, four Volturi members came up. Behind them a fifth member was walking. The Cullens who were expecting and prepared for just four gasped. The Volturi never sent any more the four members unless it was something extremely important. And nothing could have prepared them for the next words out of the Volturi member's mouth...
