Hooray I managed to write something! I might add some onto the last bit, I don't want to glaze over Scott's birthday.

Melissa's POV

The morning before Scott's birthday came around very quickly. Kirstie would be discharged today. I had left Henry's car at the hospital so he would be bringing her home whilst I was on the school run. The other kids knew that she was coming home today, and I wasn't sure what they were more excited for: Scott's birthday party on Saturday or having their little sister home safe. We went through most of the day on autopilot.

Mitch seemed off all day; he was bored with everything and was different without his twin. Kevin was used to helping Kirstie as much as he could, giving me a little bit of a break. He would always read stories to her, and the others, every single day. They loved how he would change his voice to suit different characters. Avi would always want to cuddle her before she went up to bed. Scott just loved her more than anything.

Henry's POV

It got to lunchtime and Kirstie was able to be discharged. It was a little bit earlier than expected, so I could take her shopping to get Scott's birthday present from her. She was determined to pick it out herself. I came back into her room, to see a nurse helping her out of the bathroom. She had needed a bath and the toilet. Normally I would've done it myself, but she was also hungry so I went to get lunch instead.

"Daddy I clean!" she shouted happily.

"Yes sweetie. I've got lunch, so you can eat it whilst I sign you out okay?" She nodded and let the nurse lift her back up onto her bed. I put her food next to her, just as Dr Carlisle came in.

"I've got the discharge papers ready, all you need to do is sign them, and then you're free to go," he said with a big grin on his face.

"Thanks doc," I replied, just as happily.

About half an hour later, Kirstie was dressed and ready to go. Just before we left, all the doctors and nurses that had been heavily involved with her treatment came into her room to say goodbye. She ran up to each one and gave them a bear hug, as much as a bear hug meant to her.

"Thank you. I better now," she said to all of them. Everyone in the room teared up a little, she was being so cute.

"Come on sweetie, time to go home," I said, reaching my hand out to her. She shook her head and reached her arms out, begging to picked up.

"Tell your brother happy birthday from all of us," Dr Carlisle said as we walked out the door. The entire way out to the car, various nurses and a few doctors waved to Kirstie as we left. She waved and smiled back to every single one, saying goodbye in her cute way.

"Want to go get Scottie's present now sweetie?" I asked her as I strapped her into her car seat.

"Spesh prez," she said nodding her head.

"Alright, we've got a few hours before we need to be home anyway. Your brothers will be so happy to have you home again." I ran my hand over her head as she cuddled her favourite teddy bear and smiled at me. "Let's go sweetie pie."

It didn't take Kirstie long to find what she believed to be the perfect present for Scott. He was definitely going to love it. Melissa had planned to be out with Mitch on the school run, so I could bring Kirstie home to surprise the boys when they got home, so we had to kill a little more time before we went home. Kirstie spotted a small ice cream shop tucked away in the corner of the shopping centre, so I treated her to an ice cream, for being so good when she was in the hospital. All the workers there thought she was so cute and polite. She remembered to say please and thank you when she told them what flavour she wanted. They let her pick out a number of toppings for free, because she was so polite and I told them why she really deserved a treat.
