A/N: Big thank you to Raven5555 who wrote Taylor's part for this chapter.

Kirstie's POV

After a few days of being with Gemma, I was finally allowed to go back to school. I missed Taylor and Hannah. I still needed someone to help me walk around, but I had a feeling Taylor would be willing to help me. She's my best friend. I'd do anything to help her and she'd do the same for me.

"Kirstie!" I heard when Kevin dropped me and Mitch off at our classroom. I looked towards the noise and saw Taylor running towards me with her arms wide open. She got to me quickly and wrapped her arms around me in a bear hug. I gladly gave one back.

"So glad you back." Taylor said.

"Me too. Missed you." I said. We played together all day long. We had missed each other so much. I love going to school and seeing Taylor all day long. Maybe Mummy would let her come over and play one day. So glad I'm better and can be back at school for the rest of the week. Hannah was as happy to see me as I was to see Taylor.

Taylor's POV

I woke up to the sound of my bedroom door creaking open. It was my Daddy coming to wake me up. He does every morning, as we can only afford one alarm clock, and he has it so he wakes me up. He came in and I sat up to look at him.

"Morning Daddy." I said, reaching out for a hug. He picked me up and held me on his hip, so I could give him a big cuddle. I took a deep breath and inhaled his scent of peppermint and grease, from his job at the fish and chip shop. We get most of our meals from there, as the owner, Uncle Thomas, gives us free meals.

"Morning baby. You have school today, so you need to get dressed." he said, carrying me over to my small dresser. He pulled out an outfit before leaving to make breakfast, and I got dressed, being as quick as I could. I ran down the hallway of our flat, making it to the kitchen. I sat down at the kitchen table just as Daddy passed me my cereal. I ate it as he tidied some things up, as he was working late again today so I would have to look after myself, with him not getting home until after I've gone to bed. The people living next to us were nice, so they kept an eye on me when Daddy was working late.

"What are you doing today at school baby?" he asked me.

"We are doing numbers today. Maths day. Miss Carly said she might get the water tray out too. But not if cold." I said.

"Was Kirstie back at school yesterday?" Daddy asked me.

"Yeah, today as well." I said, thinking back to the start of the week when my best friend hasn't turned up to school again. Hannah said that she got ill over the weekend and was staying home. Mitch didn't say much more, and I was lonely for three days until she turned up to school yesterday. She had a big bruise on her cheek, she said it was from her 'shaking'. I heard Miss Carly give it a real name, but I don't remember what it was.

"Well, we should head off to school then, so you can see Kirstie and do maths. I'll get you some spare clothes in case you get soaked again." he said. Daddy left the room then to do that, and I put my bowl in the sink, having to stand on my tip toes. The phone rang, but I heard the water running. Daddy was in the bathroom.

So I answered the phone, in case it was important.

"Hello?" I asked down the phone.

"Hello? Is this Taylor?" a woman asked.

"Yeah. Who are you? Do you want Daddy?" I asked. There was hesitation from the person on the phone before they answered.

"I'm not calling for your Daddy. I want to see you. Taylor, this is Mummy." the woman said.
