Which came first, the chicken or the egg?

I figured out the egg came first. On the way home from Sioux Falls SD if figured it out. So this is how it happened, a mammal and an aquatic reptile like an alligator had a baby that hatched out of an egg. The baby turned out to be a platypus. There is another slightly different way too. A mammal, probably a porcupine out hedge hog and a reptile had an egg that hatched a monotreme.
  To make a chicken, the eggs were layered and had too much radiation or were layered in some bio hazard and mutated into a chicken. The fenders are layered like scales from their reptilian grandparent, and softened by the fur of their mammal grandparent.
   Because the mutated and became before the chicken, the question the chicken or the egg answered. The egg came first.
