As signs of it being morning passed through her curtains, Marinette woke up from the almost sleepless night.

Marinette blinked wearily up at the trapdoor above her bed, rolling around and groaning over the events that happened yesterday and the amount of information that almost fried her brain. She ceased from her frantic tossing and turning and laid still in her bed with her arm over her eyes and sighed.

"I'm the princess of China."

Her murmuring was met with silence though Marinette expected it. She got little to no sleep that night as her mind was still buzzing wide awake and over thought everything about her future now that she knew she was an actual princess. She let out a long exhale and offhandly thought of her partner in fighting crime.

Wonder how Chat would react to his accurate nickname.

Marinette felt Tikki stirring in the crook of her neck and the bluenette absently observed the kwami waking up as her own wave of exhaustion washed over her. Tikki hummed tiredly and sat up, looking at Marinette half-liddedly but still cheerfully chirped, lifting Marinette from her slow demeanour.

"Good morning Marinette!" She felt herself smiling and pulled the kwami into a hug, careful not to squish the tiny being. Tikki returned the hug warmly, knowing how jittery her chosen was after receiving the news and knew that Marinette needed time to process this. Marinette broke away from the embrace a few minutes later and jumped out of her bed energetically, contrasting greatly with her downcast mood a few moments before. Tikki raised her non-existent eyebrows in questioning looks but Marinette simply giggled and poked the tiny God on the cheek and grinned.

"There's no point in me pouting about the whole ordeal." Marinette waved her hands around dismissively and Tikki had to applaud Marinette for taking the situation so well and so maturely. Tikki then smiled in endearment as Marinette already began showing the signs of becoming a true royal and sighed to herself, reminiscing about the past Ladybugs who were also part of royalty. Marinette jumped down the stairs to her bunk and did a slight twirl on the balls of her feet, heading over to her dresser to pick out an outfit to match her jaunty mood.

"Besides, I'm actually pretty excited to be a princess!" Marinette added with a certain giddiness laced in her tone. Completely satisfied with her choice of clothes, she went to the bathroom to take a shower and start the day.

Getting out a few minutes later, nice and clean, Marinette started getting dressed in the chosen outfit for the day, marvelling to herself how cute it actually was and seemed to make her look more sophisticated with the overall simplicity and elegance with it. To top it all off, Marinette gathered the top half of her hair and tied it off, complementing it with a black bow clip.

Tikki flew around Marinette's head, cooeing excitingly at Marinette's choice of clothes and offering many compliments and advice on the little things of becoming more noble like such as straightening up her posture, holding her head up high and proud to distinguish confidence and to never waver in her speech which Marinette was confident in if she wasn't anywhere near Adrien Agreste, Marinette's longtime crush from the minute he handed her his umbrella on that faithful day. Thinking about it made Marinette's insides turn into a gooey mess the cliched sweetness of it all and she couldn't help but sigh dreamily at his kindness.
