Darkness. That's all the surrounded her. That, and the sound of busy cars and buses moving on the roads below. The young lady sat on the rooftop of her new apartment building, a bottle of whiskey sitting by her side, with little to nothing left inside. This lady was Agent Alexandra Parrish, and she had her knees curled into her chest, her head bowed down as she sobbed hysterically. She was a mess, a sad, lost, lonely, drunk mess. Slowly, Parrish lifted her head and looked around. Her vision was blurred, but she could still see lights that glowed from the traffic below. In one movement, Alex stood up on her feet and started walking to the edge, feeling a bit nauseous, tipping the bottle of whiskey over as she did. Once there, instead of throwing up, she kept mumbling something to herself, the tears starting to trace the path of the old ones down her face again as she stood up on the ledge and helped her arms out on either side of her. Before she could even think about it, she jumped.

She stepped off of the ledge, feeling the air violently push against her hair and face, drying the tears almost instantly. All of a sudden, from the side, something came swooping in from the sky, catching Parrish before she hit the ground, and returning her to her feet safely. But what?
