The next morning was any typical morning for a hungover human. Alex woke up, tangled in sheets that didn't belong to her, again. She lifted her head off the pillow and groaned in pain at the feeling, collapsing back on the soft material quickly. She coughed a bit and kept a hand on her head. As soon as he heard a noise, Clark came rushing in, as quickly and carefully as he could with a mug of coffee.

"Alex!" He whisper-shouted, "you're fine- you're just hungover."

"Well, thank you for stating the obvious, Clark." She teased and laughed weakly, making Clark laugh as well.

"I brought you coffee, and toast."

"Aww... thank you." Alex cooed and slowly sat up, going to grab the coffee mug that Clark handed her, letting him set the toast on the table next to the bed. Clark sat on the edge of the bed, next to Alex as she sipped her coffee gratefully, letting out a hum in satisfaction, "this is amazing.." she mumbled in awe.

Kent, flattered, nodded his head with a gentle smile, "thank you." He said, catching Alex's hand as she held it out to him. Their fingers laced together with ease; Alex's smaller hand fitting comfortably in the bigger hand belonging to Clark.

"I saw some weird stuff last night. I don't know— it was probably a dream."

"What did you see?" Clark asked curiously, knowing that she woke up briefly the night before, and that she could have possibly remembered whatever she saw, but he remained calm, also knowing that she was good at what she did in the Bureau, and she could detect any sign of suspicious behavior.

"I thought I saw... a man. The last thing I remember was me sitting on the rooftop of the apartment, and having a drink. Then I woke up and saw a man.. he was holding me, like I was injured. I don't know. It's probably just a dream."

Clark stayed quiet throughout the story, listening carefully to her words. He then decided that it was time to confess something to the woman he was considering a serious relationship with. He placed his other hand atop Alex's, sandwiching her hand between both of his, preparing to speak. Alex looked at him, knowing he was going to say something important.

"Alex... I need to talk to you about something. It has to be before our date."

"Anything. What's going on?"

"Actually I'll just— show you. Can you walk?"

"I can walk."

Clark then helped Alex out of bed and led her out to his car, where he let her in and hopped into the other side. Starting the engine up, he waited for her to be buckled up before driving off to wherever. Alex had no idea where he was taking her, and what he had to show her. She sat comfortably in the truck that simply smelled like a house, the heater slowly heating up the space around them.

"So... where exactly are you taking me?"

"Somewhere I won't be seen."

Alex let the conversation stop there. She trusted Clark, and knew he wouldn't do anything to hurt her in any way. He was such a gentle person, she found it hard to believe he could kill a fly.

Eventually, they reached a field of tall grass, far from the city and what seemed like any sort of civilization. The two got out of the truck and Clark immediately tugged on Alex's wrist, taking her to the middle of the field. A few feet away from her was a tall boulder. There were a few boulders around, but this one was much taller. Clark instructed Alex to stay where she was, as he ran behind the boulder to the point where she could no longer see him.

Suddenly, out of nowhere a figure came floating up above the large rock, over, and then down in front of Alexandra. By this time, it cleared, and Alex saw the figure to be Clark. Clark, without curly hair, and glasses, but with a shiny blue suit with what looked like an 'S' on his chest. The woman stared up at him in confusion and awe, taking in the presence in front of her. Clark detected that she didn't know what to say, so he spoke instead.

"I'm sure you recognize me.." he said softly, knowing that when they met, they talked about the man in the sky. Alex swallowed and nodded her head, simply taking in the information she just got.

"So.. even when I was criticizing you, the day we met, I didn't offend you?"

"No, no you didn't." The both laughed and Clark pushed some hair behind Alex's ear and cupped her cheek in his large hand before leaning down and stealing a soft kiss. Once they pulled back, Alex took a moment to look at the symbol on his chest, tracing it with the tip of her finger.

"S?"

"It's... not an 'S'. On my world it means hope." Clark tried not to chuckle as he said that, knowing he's had to use that line before, a few times. Alex nodded and smiled, the couple sitting in the embrace for a few moments, listening to the sounds of nature surrounding them.
