I wonder if this is all in my head
Do others think of this
Because when I do I can't breathe
Everything is so much
It hurts me inside
I feel like I'm falling
Like I'm constantly running
Out of breath but the floor
It's falling out beneath me
So I can't stop
My legs hurt and my lungs
Hurt but I can't keep going
I gotta keep going
Because in the end I run
I run because it helps
When I run my throat burns
And I can feel sweat
dripping from my forehead
My bare feet hitting the ground
The grass under the balm of my foot
I run and run
And I don't stop.
When my lungs burn
It propels me forward
Makes me run harder faster
I run to clear my head
I run all the time
I wander here and there
To parks and trails and streets
Then I turn and walk home.
