AP - MCIVER, IOWA is not just any small town. Located almost exactly in between Chicago, Illinois, and Kansas City, Missouri, McIver, Iowa was founded nearly 100 years ago by Seamus McIver III. McIver lore says that Seamus was so chagrined by all the violence in 1920s Chicago that he moved his family and his law firm south so that he and his children could live in peace and prosperity.
Today, McIver thrives as one of America's most prosperous small towns. Home to the world renown McIver Group law firm, nearly everyone works for or is affiliated with the firm and the family. The local schools are some of the best in the nation, the taxes are low, and property values are among the highest in the state. Best yet, McIver has proven to be recession proof.
All in all, McIver, Iowa is almost heaven on earth...
