Kyle went inside and brought me out a soda through the window. Jennifer called her father, of course, he said it was ok for me to go inside, but she refused to let me in till their father came back.
Eh, fine by me. She didn't trust me, that's ok. A lot of people didn't trust me, and really, it was fine by me.
I sat there drinking my soda. I heard a car coming on the other side of house, I looked down the porch hallway. There was a truck that pulled up to the house. It was a a silver pickup truck, it had mud dried on the side of the car doors.
A man came out of the door, he had sandy hair that's very short and gelled into a old classic style. He walked in through the front door, He walks into the kitchen and looks at me through the window."Oh, your the girl my daughter mentioned?"
"Yes..."
"Well I'm John!" He put his hand through the window, I shook his hand and gave him a smile.
"I'm Rose."
"What are you doing outside?"
"Oh, your daughter didn't want me to be in the house till you were here."
"Ah gosh that girl.. well, come in! It must be cold!"
He came to the back door and opened it, I walked in. The house was a nice cozy home, the smell of wood and pine cones filled the air. I smiled, I liked their house, it was so very peaceful.
John walked back in the kitchen and opened the fridge."So tell me, Rose. How did you get here?" He said over his shoulder.
"Oh, well..." I looked at the photographs on the walls.
" I uh... don't know.""You don't?" He looked at me.
"Well, the last thing I remembered was getting hit by a car."
"Oh dear.. are you alright?" He walked over to me and looked me over.
"I don't see any wounds or bruises.""Yeah... it's pretty strange, isn't it?"
I looked at my hands and arms.
"I don't know what happened...""Strange... very strange..."
He tilted his head.
"Maybe we can go into town tomorrow so you we can find your parents?"I nod.
"Yes, please, their phones must be turned off because when I called, they didn't answer.""It's alright, you can stay here for the night." He smiles, he's a very gentle, kind man. "Come on, we have an guest room upstairs."
I followed him upstairs, he showed me into a room, it was across from two other rooms. I looked into the Rooms, I saw that the room directly across from mine was Kyle's, then Jennifer's next to it. John opens the guest room, he gestures me in.
"Thank you."
I walked in, John stood there at the door."Well, make yourself at home, we usually get up at 7:30am. Breakfast at
8:30am. Have a good night."
He slowly closed the door, leaving me alone in the guest room. I sat down on the bed. It wasn't a big room, the bed had to be atleast a queen sized bed, with grey sheets and a blue blanket. The walls were painted a dull beige color. There was a window that looked over a part of the wheat field right next
To the bed, the bed of course was pushed up to the window, giving me a perfect view of the wheat field. There was a small night stand, old wooden dresser, and one lamp. I unloaded my pockets of what I had. My phone, somehow with a bit a battery life, chapstick, pepper-spray, and my headphones. I turned my phone off, best to save the battery I have left. I placed all of my things in the small nightstand drawer. I peeled off my jacket and crawled into the bed. This place, it's so beautiful, straight out of one of those cheesy romance movies.
Yet I love it, this place, it reminds me of my daydreams, my DreamWorld, my perfect place to be, my home.
