It's the day before Sherlock's birthday and a week before our wedding, and I haven't gotten sick for a month. Sherlock just got back from a case.

"Hello love." I say as Sherlock walked through the door.

"There's flour in your hair, what have you been up to?" He said smiling

"Baking your birthday cake. Do you want to see it?" I said

"Sure." He said joyfully

I led him to the kitchen, his cake was on the counter. It was a small round cake I colored the frosting black and I put little skull sprinkles on it.

"This is brilliant!" Sherlock said

But I wasn't paying attention to that, I couldn't breathe. Sherlock looked at me, his smile faded.

"Are you okay?" He asked and ran over to me.

"I can't breathe." I mouthed to him and put my hands on my throat. He grabbed my hand and pulled me to the sitting room, where he called for an ambulance.

A couple minutes later, just when I started hearing the sirens, everything went black.

I woke up in a hospital room, Sherlock was sitting next to me on a stool, and my mum was sitting next to him.

"What happened?" I said noticing that it was hard to breathe

"After you blacked out, the ambulance came and picked us up, then you went into surgery, and you came out an hour ago." Sherlock said

"How are you feeling sweetie?" My mum asked

"Not well." I said, my chest hurt.

The door opened and the doctor walked in.

"We had to damage your nerves to remove the tumor, we couldnt remove all the tumor. I'm going going to put this bluntly, you don't have long to live." The doctor said leaving the room.

"I'm going to call Mike, and tell him to get his rear end out of Canada and to come home now." My mum said

"Sherlock take me home, I don't want to die in a hospital." I said

Sherlock passed me my clothes, I put them on ever so slowly occasionally needing Sherlock's assistance.

He helped me stand, I could barely walk. Eventually we got to the road and signaled a cab. It was midnight when we got home.

He had to carry me i couldn't walk, he set me down on his bed then went and shut the door. I was so tired as soon as he laid down next to me I fell asleep.

The next morning I felt even weaker, it hurt to breath.

"Sherlock." I said my voice was just over a whisper.

"Iris, you're awake." He said smiling

"Happy Birthday." I said

"Thank you." He said kissing my forehead

"Sherlock, we were going to be married, and eventually we were going to have children, two of them at least. A boy and a girl. The boy would be Mickey, what would you have named the girl?" I said

He paused, swallowing deeply, "Amelia."

"Mickey and Amelia." I said smiling

Sherlock sat up and crossed his legs then put me on his lap, I rested my head on his chest.

"They're great names." He said

Suddenly it became harder to breathe.

I felt tears fall from my eyes.
