A loud knock sounds on my door and I shift my position on my bed from being slumped on my back to sitting up against the wall “Come in” I call knowing it’s a member of my Pack. The door swings open with a slight creek to reveal an over excited looking Nate; his mid-blue eyes gleaming and his hands clutching a thick envelope. I push myself off the bed and take the envelope from his hands examining the scrawl on the front. “Is this?” I ask quickly and Nate nods in confirmation. Fuck yes. The package has arrived. “Come on then” I walk out of my room and down the hallway, down the flight of stairs and into the Pack office chucking the envelope down on the desk with a thud. Nate follows me in and swings the door shut behind him, we need to examine this before consulting the Pack.
“Did anyone see you bring it in?” I ask knowing that if that was the case I would have several sets of ears trained on this room.
“Max” Right, he would have been going out for a run about now. “He knew what it was but said nothing” sounds about right.
“Good” I rip the envelope open and pull out a thick wad of paper, including several maps and different sized notes. Nate and I both grab a piece and begin to read and continue doing so until there is nothing left unseen. Finally I look up from the pile and look at Nate to find his eyes gleaming with the same fire that mine probably are right now.
: ‘Pack meeting in the office’ I command :
Moments later and the door is sprung open to reveal Jason, Xavier, Eddie and Austin all of whom do a double take when their eyes reach the map that is still spread out in the middle of the long wooden desk in the middle of the room. “Is that?” Eddie asks loudly and Nate raises his eyebrows suggestively in response. “Fuck yes” A loud bang sounds as Aaron and Oliver prance in whacking the door against the wall in the process and seeming completely unbothered by the withering looks they receive from the rest of us as usual. I have to admit it sometimes amazes me that those two make decent Werewolves at all.
I grab the stuff off the desk and carry it over to the arrangement of sofas down the other end of the room, dumping it on the coffee table before collapsing into one of the sofas. The others quickly follow and slump themselves around the other sofas all with very alert and eager eyes. We all look up as a set of footsteps sounds from the doorway to see Jack walking in rubbing his red knuckles... I’m surprised he hasn’t broken that punching bag by now. His eyes gleam when he sees the pile on the coffee table and a smirk forms on his lips. “Finally” he growls in appreciation, collapsing down next to Eddie. If there’s anyone who’s been itching to get at East Forest more than I have it’s be Jack.
Moments later soft footsteps sound in the hallway and Max walks in calmly, walking around the table to sit on the large empty chair to my right, nodding his respect the moment his eyes meet mine as usual. His hazel eyes are once again guarded and he makes no effort to hide them from me as I know he must have many times previously, he is an unreadable book when he chooses to be but I have no doubt in his loyalty. I’ve yet to meet a Were as complicated as Max... except maybe Erin.
“Obviously you all know what this is” I break the buzzing silence signalling to the pile in front of me and I get a full house of nods. “This includes their patrol schedule, a map marked with their main used places within their territory, their attack strategies and a bit more... far more than enough to dominate them without effort,” Like stealing candy from a baby.
