Day Twelve

Lucy woke up in an unknown place. There wasn't any sign of Natsu. She wasn't in the forest anymore. Someone must've brought her there. Was it Sting?

There were still chances that Sting survived that stab. That idea gave her goosebumps. She doesn't want to see him again.

She was inside a small, square room. Across the room, there was a telephone. She stood up from the bed and felt her legs hurt, but she kept going. She walked to the phone and saw a picture of Natsu with a message.

Lucy wanted to, but at the same time, she didn't want to. She was scared. What if it wasn't Natsu who answered? What if it's just bait?

But she didn't have any other choice - it was either she stayed there for God knows how many hours or even days, or she just dial the number. 

"Hello?"

"Lucy? Is that you?"

"Yeah, 100%."

"Thank God. Are you hurt anywhere? Did Sting do anything?"

"I'm not hurt. Sting didn't do anything."

"Are you sure?"

"...he attempted to do it, and I..."

"Shh, it's alright.."

"I just- it was just self defense, I'm not a murderer-"

"Lucy, listen to me. It wasn't your fault that you had to do that."

"..."

"Are you listening?"

"Yes, I am."

"Good."

"Where am I, Natsu? I'm scared. I miss you."

"Aw, Luce... I miss you too."

"Can't I see you?"

"Not yet."

"Why not?"

"You're birthday's in three days, right?" 

"Yeah, why?"

"Nothing. Rest well there."

"I don't even know where I am. I really want to see you. Why can't I see you, Natsu? Why?"

"I can't let you see me right now."

"Did something happen to you?"

"No - it's not like that. I just.. um, I got into a fight with Gray, and I'm only trying to heal myself."

"You know you don't have to make people search for you everywhere just to heal, right?"

"I knew you'd say that."

"Yes I did."

"Nah."

"Why do we always argue?"

"Why are you so annoying?"

"Why are you such a savage?"

While Lucy's asleep, Natsu silently went to the room she's in and checked on her. He sat on the bed. He stroked her hair and smiled.
