Hera's P.O.V

"Run," Kanan said and we both took off. I could hear firing of guns, explosions, screaming, and more. I looked behind us to see the troopers firing at the rebels that go against the empire. The rebels were mixed with wealthy and poor classes. People say that the rebels are buffoons and others say that they are heroes. I myself never cheered for either side cause I wasn't sure who was the good or bad guys.

The war was over yet we are never in peace. Both classes still fought over the dumbest things and sometimes without a reason. Our society was in chaos but I kept this to myself just in case I'm wrong.

People screaming and crying snapped me out of my thoughts. I almost fell to the ground from the ground shaking. Then jets flew over the sky and dropped bombs onto a trooper building. Me and Kanan were pushed back and fell on to the sidewalk. I landed so hard that I was knocked out. Before I faded away, I could hear Kanan calling for me. Then I blacked out.

Kanan's P.O.V

This is bad, really bad. Hera was knocked out, with a small gash on her head and Ezra was still unconscious laying near by. I had to calm down and focused on anything that could help us get out of this battle zone. I scanned the area and saw a wagon and bike.

An idea was formed and I carried both of them. I gently laid them in the wagon and used a jump rope to tie the bike to the wagon. After I was down, I heard a groan and looked over to see both Hera and Ezra wake up. "What go on?" Ezra asked frightened by the loud noise.

Hera was trying to keep consciousness by wrapping her arms around the young boy. He laid his head on her chest and listen to her reassuring words. I hoped onto the bike and pedaled off to one of Hera's friends house.

We made it to the house about 2 minutes later. I carried Hera up to the door and Ezra followed behind. I knocked on the door and it opened showing a grumpy Copper. He couldn't talk so he used sign language to communicate. I wasn't very good at understanding at times.

"Copper we need your help, Hera's injured and our street has a battle going on," I said and Copper let us in. He was a doctor and Hera was his assistant nurse at the hospital. We didn't get along that well but Hera saw something in him. I'm not exactly sure what it was though. I set Hera on the couch and me and Ezra sat in the kitchen to wait.

Hera and Copper became friends a little before I met Hera. People always picked on him for not being able to talk and that is why he was always grumpy. But then he met Hera and they became the best of friends. Copper was protective over Hera like she was his sister.

I was brought out of my thoughts when Copper walked through the door. "Is she going to be ok?" I asked worried and I could tell that Ezra was too. Copper gave us a smile and a nod. I sighed in relief and Copper pointed to the living room meaning that we could go see Hera.

"Thank you so much Copper," I said great fully laying a hand on his shoulder then went to see Hera. I could see from the corner of my eye, Copper smiling. Ezra was already in the room holding Hera's hand and smiling. I walked over and sat next to Ezra on the floor. Hera was awake with bandages rapped around her head and smiling weakly at us. "Hi boys," she spoke squeezing Ezra's hand.

I let a soft smile spread across my lips. I stood up and leaned over her placing a kiss on her forehead. I sat back down and put an arm around Ezra's thin frame. To my surprise, Ezra laid his head on my shoulder. I laid my head on top of his and and rubbed my hand up and down his arm.

"So now what?" Hera asked us. "We go home and have you in bed until you are fully recovered," I said. I released my hold on Ezra and he sat up. "Ezra, stay here while I go and get the Ghost," I said, "I'll be right back." "Bye love," Hera said and Ezra waved bye. I waved bye and exited the house to get the Ghost.

Ezra's P.O.V

Kanan left and now it was just me and Hera. I was deep in thought at what happened before. It sounded just like the war...

"Ezra sweetie, are you alright?" Hera asked. I was brought back to reality and smiled nodding. "Ok, but if there is something wrong, me and Kanan will help in anyway we can," Hera said. I tried to not to put to much thought into it cause I still think I don't deserve any of there love. I don't even know why I keep loving there affection! They lure me in with there love like bait on a hook.

It was so tempting, warm, and safe. No Ezra! Don't be tempted by there kindness! Wait, were they being kind to me or pitying me? I felt Hera squeeze my hand bring me back again. "Ezra, please tell me what's wrong?" She said with worried in her eyes. "Why worried?" I asked with a slight tilt of my head.

"Why wouldn't I be worried?" She asked concerned, "You are crying". I wiped my hand on the side of my face and felt a single tear. I looked up at Hera and said, "I'm.......fine." I could tell she didn't believe me, I wouldn't believe myself either.

"Please talk to me," she begged and used her strength to slip her hand out of mine. She placed her soft hand on the side of my face. I did my best not to lean into the touch. "Why don't you want any of the affection or love I give to you?" She asked. She can read me like a book. Hera was solving the mystery on why I'm avoiding it.

So I did my last option I had. I stood up and walked away. "Ezra?" She said worried but I kept moving until I was next to the door. "No Ezra," she pleaded as I turned the handle and kept reminding myself why I'm doing this. 'You are a monster, freak, Emile,' the voice in my head said.

I did one more glance at Hera before running out of the door, shutting it behind me. I heard the battle rage on in the distance and ran in the opposite direction. I didn't know where I was going. I just let my feet guide me while my thoughts on Hera begging me to stay was planted into my head.
