Ana

The warning bell that morning snapped me out of my daydream that morning. I was coming up with a lovely story idea to write about, but I lost it as soon as I heard the train whistle that the school used. I got up from where I was sitting in the hall and gathered up my things quickly.

“Ana,” a voice said as a girl walked closer. It was my friend Alexis, who had a homeroom near mine. We always walked to homeroom together, and she must have been looking, because she looked a little out of breath.

It also could have been the high school stairs, which we had been suffering through since freshman year. I stood up and greeted her. “Hey,” I smiled sweetly. “Ready to go?” I asked.

“Definitely,” she said. The two of us started over to the stairway again, since our classrooms were on the third floor. “So, are you excited for break?” She asked me. She knew what I was doing and where I was going this break.

“Oh, definitely. It’s going to be tons of fun. I’m really excited,” I responded.

“What are you planning on doing?” Alexis asked as we climbed up the stairs, joined by many kids in the school.

“Well, it all depends on the weather. We might hang out in the cabin, or maybe go out and have snowball fights, so I’m not really sure,” I answered. That was really all I knew in all honesty.

“Are they going to be there?” She gave me a small smile, and I knew exactly what she was thinking. She was thinking of my friends I had met over the summer.

“Yup. I got a text from one of them this morning before they got on their plane,” I answered, a small smile forming on my lips as I thought of who it was. This friend was more special than the others, even if I thought that they were all great people. And she knew exactly who it was.

“Really? What did it say?” She asked with a smile.

I pulled out my phone and opened up our conversation. I clicked on his name in my phone, which was just ‘Him’ so people looking over my shoulder wouldn’t know. You see, this guy was not only special to me, and so were the others, but all of them were famous. And what we had done this summer, it wasn’t entirely private. People had found out, and now our whole school knew who they were. Because of that summer, our popularity had gone from average to practically ruling the school.

You see, he was Harry Styles, and they were One Direction.

Because of photos and such floating around the internet, people had identified us and sent it to the media. Me, and five of my best friends, were instantly catapulted into the spotlight. But we had played it off normally, and had lied about any relationships until we both were comfortable with it.

I snapped out of my thoughts and showed Alexis the text.

Hey love. Just getting on the plane with the guys. See you after classes :)

She smiled. “Well, you’re going to have a great time,” she said sweetly. “I’m glad you’re going to see him again.”
