Chapter Thirty Six - "My Flight Leaves In Three Hours."
___Avery's P.O.V
"Thanks for coming, Ava." Chance says as I take a seat in front of him. I nod at Chance and he rubs the back of his neck.
"Okay, I'm just going to go straight out with it. Avery, I'm going back to England." Chance says and I nod slowly, not really knowing where this conversation is leading to.
"You have always meant so much to me and I will always love you, even though you will never love me back. Avery, after everything we've been through-" Chance grabs my hand and holds it in his. "All I can say is that I'm sorry. I know the things that I have done to your are not pleasant but I'm sorry for everything." Chance sighs and I nod again.
"The things you do for love." Chance mumbles quietly before chuckling to himself.
"Avery," Chance says, drawing his attention back to me. His small smile that was on his lips now fades into a deep frown. "I'm moving to England because my mom has cancer." Chance says and I gap at him. Chance nods but he gives me a reassuring smile.
"Its okay though, she is getting a lot of help. My mom actually was the one who told me to make this arrangement today. She knows everything that has happened between us, as you already know, and she said to just own up to my mistakes and apologize. Since it's the best I can do for my mother, I asked you to come today and I'm so glad you didn't ditch me." Chance mumbles, his eyes getting teary. I shake my head and grip his hand.
"She's going to make it, Chance. She's a fighter." I say, smiling at Chance and he shrugs.
"Well tell her that. She is already telling me about her will and everything. I just... I just can't lose her." Chance says, frowning as he looks down at our hands. I sigh and shake my head.
"Don't think that way. Stay positive, Chance. Believe me, she will get through this and she can't do it alone. You have to be by her side, not worrying about the future. Focus on the present." I say and Chance sighs.
"You always give good advice, Ava." Chance says and he stands up, walking over to me. I stand and accept his hug, thinking about the things he is going through right now.
"I'll always be here, you know?" Chance says and I nod, smiling at him as he pulls away. Chance sighs and runs a hand through his hair.
"I hope you are happy with Logan. You deserve better." Chance says and I shrug.
"Somewhat." I say, smiling at Chance and he rolls his eyes before hugging me again.
"I'm leaving today by the way. My flight leaves in three hours." Chance says and I nod.
"Have a safe flight, okay? Tell your mom I said that I miss her very much." I say as Chance stands at the side of the road, trying to grab the attention of any cab driver who is driving past. One pulls up in front of him and Chance nods, flashing me a smile.
"Hopefully everything works out okay." Chance says before getting into the car. The car starts to drive off and I wave. Chance puts his hands out the window and waves back. I let out a sigh and run my hands down my face.
What the hell just happened?

"Hey, Aunty Heather." I say, walking into the house. Aunty Heather turns her head and gives me a smile before looking back at the television.
"Why are you home so late?" Aunty Heather asks and I look at the clock, frowning at the time.
"You do realise it's only five o'clock, right?" I ask, sitting down next to my Aunty. She nods and laughs, shaking her head slightly.
