Chapter Forty Two - "You Nearly Died Doing A Stupid Dare..."
___Avery's P.O.V
"Look, you know you don't have to stay-" I get cut off by Logan again and he smiles at me, his hand over my mouth.
"I have been wanting to meet your parents for quite some time now. Even though I have had a few encounters with your father doesn't mean that I can't meet the rest of your family too." Logan says, smirking now and I groan, removing his hand from my mouth.
"But my father..." I mumble and Logan shakes his head.
"I understand why your worried, Avery but I promise you, nothing will happen. I will make him like me." Logan says and I frown at him. Logan smiles and grabs my face, pulling me in for a short but tender kiss. A knock at the door interups us and we both turn around to see Aunty Heather grinning at us.
"You two are so cute." Aunty Heather says and I roll my eyes.
"Is there a reason your at my door?" I ask and Aunty Heather laughs, placing a hand on her heart.
"God, your attitude definitely hurts me, Avery but yes, there is a reason why I am here. Your mom wants you both downstairs." Aunty Heather says and I nod. Aunty Heather walks off and I look at Logan.
"Are you sure?" I ask and Logan flicks my nose.
"Positive." Logan smiles and I roll my eyes at him before standing up and walking down the stairs. I walk into the kitchen to see my mom stirring something in the pot.
"Hey mom, we are here." I say and I quickly turn around to make sure Logan is still here. My mom turns around and looks at the both of us.
"I just want to tell you that your father is on his way home now so... I don't know, just get prepared for the worst." My mom frowns and I bite my lip at her words.
"Don't worry Mrs Leighton, everything will run smoothly." Logan says and my mom looks at Logan then at me.
"He isn't worried?" My mom asks me and I shake my head.
"Sadly no." I mumble and I hear Logan chuckle.
"Why does everyone think that this is going to go badly?" Logan asks and before we could do anything, we hear a door open and I close my eyes at my father's voice.
"I'm home!" My father says in a happy tone and I mentally pray before walking out to greet my father.
His mood is definitely going to disappear when he sees Logan.
"Hey dad, how was your day?" I ask him and he shrugs, hugging me for a quick second before letting me go.
"Alright." He says before making his way to the kitchen. When he enters it though, he stops right in his tracks and I watch as his eyes narrow at the person in the kitchen.
"Its you... in my house." My father says and I quickly run into the kitchen, standing beside Logan who is just smiling at my father.
Ugh, here it goes.
"Hello Mr-"
"What the hell are you doing here?" My father spits and I start to back away when my father looks at me, trying to seek an answer and Logan grabs my hand, pulling me to his side once again.
"I invited him for dinner." My mom speaks up and I gulp when my father looks up at his wife, narrowing his eyes at her.
"Why?"
"Because I would our daughter's boyfriend to stay for dinner."
And thats how it went downhill.
