Before

"Have you ever been in love?"

"Before?" She asked as she dug her feet

in the sand, steadying her swing.

"Yeah," I whispered.

"Yes," she frowned, "it was painful."

"How come?"

"It's tough when you have to get 

over someone."

And there I was, falling deeper and deeper

in that hole, knowing exactly what she

meant, because the hardest thing

ever is having to stop loving

someone after knowing

they were over you.
