The ocean is vast, I cannot see a shore
The vicious waves batter me as I desperately tread water
Every one of them has me coughing and struggling
My arms burn, I cannot swim much longer
The water is dark, like thick black ink
Drowning seems inevitable
So perhaps swimming is a waste of my energy
A wave takes me under
I cease to struggle, and gently I drift deeper
No longer am I battered and bruised by waves
Gently I sink deeper and deeper into the black
As all light there once was vanishes from sight
And my lungs fill with the darkness
