Waking up in AoT

Chapter 29

There was still a week until everyone made their decision of which regiment to join. Everyone had just finished dinner and I headed back to the girls' sleeping area. Shortly after entering the room, Krista and Sasha attacked me with questions.

"OMG do you like Marco? You two would be so cute together! Or you and Eren! Ooohhh, what about Levi?"

"Nah, none of them are really my type," I explained. "Besides, I like them all paired with other people."

Ymir looked at me. "What about any of us. It's totally fine with us if you like girls. I mean, look at me and Krista!" she said, kissing the top of her head, making the shorter blonde blush.

"No, that's not the reason either. Although, you girls do seem a little more sane than those guys."

"Well, if it's not boys, what's up then? You seem... conflicted."

"I've got a few minor problems I'm dealing with that could mean life or death for you all, but that's about it."

Everyone looked a little scared. "Anything we could help with?"

"Hmm... I have a few jobs if you're willing."

"Okay! Training is done anyway, we've got a week of nothing until graduation. What can we do?"

"Number one, get Jean and Marco together. They need to join the Scouts."

"Oh! I call dibs!" Sasha yelled.

"I wanna help!" said Krista excitedly.

"Number two..." I whispered something in Ymir's ear. Her eyes widened for a second before she grinned.

"And lastly, just be good friends to each other. You don't know how long the person next to you has left, so be concerned. Help them out. Make them happy."

That reminds me; Hannah is still sobbing in the corner.

"FRANZ!!!!" she cried out.

I ran over to her and hugged her.

She glared at me. "You saved Marco. Why didn't you save Franz?! He's been missing for a whole day now and is about to be pronounced dead. Why did one life matter more than another?!"

Tears began to run down my face. "I... I'm so sorry, Hannah... I shouldn't have been the one to come here. I CAN'T SAVE EVERYONE!"

They all looked at me, some crying themselves. That thought finally settled. What if I can't save them all?

FYI, at chapter 30 I will be going back and editing past chapters to make sure the story line is consistent. 

Oh, and I cried writing this.
