- Ruby's pov -

This week could not have been more shit. I mean Celeste comes home Wednesday morning covered head to toe in blood looking like she just walked out of the Carrie movie, then we had to take that bloody mid-test that was worth a good portion of this quarters grade, and then goddamn Anathia had to go and sign us up for some fucking volunteer work that none of us wanted to do anymore. And sweet, sweet Claire had gotten herself stuck in a broom closet.

Okay, to be fair that last one just made us laugh.

But by the time Friday rolled around I was exhausted.

I had just finished my last class of the day and I had gotten home and all I wanted to do was sleep.

"Anybody home?" I shouted when I opened up the front door.

"Just me." Celeste shouted back, from what sounded like the study.

I threw my bag on the chair before face planting on the couch.

"I'm gonna lay here, wake me up in an hour." I shouted to Celeste.

Then I proceeded to sleep, and thank god I got that hour. I woke up feeling like a whole new fucking person. Okay, not that new.

"Do you want to help me get ready?" I asked Celeste.

She smiled, "hell yeah" she said.

We both went up to my room, I sat on my bed while Celeste went over to my closet.

" So where are you taking him?" She asked.

"I'm gonna bring him to the Arcade. Figured he'd enjoy that." I said.

"I bet, here take this" Celeste said as she threw me a white tank crop top.

"Give me a pair of my black skinnies." I said after catching the top.

She did as I asked.

I changed into the bottoms first and then add the top.

Celeste grabbed some socks and threw them to me, as I put them on she retrieved a pair of gray boot heels.

"Those are cute. Where were they?" I asked as she gave them to me.

Celeste walked over to my desk as I put the heels on

Celeste walked over to my desk as I put the heels on. When she came back over to me she was holding a silver chain with a black crystal on it.

"I think your mom would have wanted you to wear this tonight." Celeste said as she clipped the necklace on me.

I smiled, "You're probably right, though she would be telling me to show a little more." I joked.

My mom, she was beautiful but so many people had misused her that the mindset that she had was one that you could get anybody to do anything with the right words and the right body. Even when I was young she taught me what I should say and do in certain situations. She was always so kind and loving and I truly wished that's she would have lived to meet Michael. She would have loved him.
