Once James had fed Harry and Emma, he took them back to the room they were staying in at the moment until he could get them a house elsewhere, and it was safe for them to be out and about. He had to tire them out before he could put them down for a nap. Once he managed to get Harry tired out enough for the toddler to sleep, he had no problem getting Emma to do the same. They were just over a year apart from each other, Harry born at the end of July, Emma at the end of August, with about ten or so days to spare before the first of September.

James sighed watching the two of them sleeping in the cots that were next to the bed. He couldn't help but feel bad for the two that they would grow up to know their mother. And he was scared for what was to come in the next nine years before Harry would turn eleven and be old enough to attend Hogwarts. And then the next year, it would be Emma's turn, and then he would be on his own during the school years. Stuck with work at least he could find some joy in being an Auror.

He stood up from where he sat watching his children, walking out the door of the room to find Sirius and Remus arguing quietly outside it. "Really? You two are that determined to make sure I don't procrastinate over this?" He asked them, both of them going red and nodding in embarrassment. "Alright. But, it will have to wait until tomorrow. I need to do something first somewhere else." He said, both men opening their mouths to protest James going somewhere alone. "I know what you are going to say. And fine, one of you can come with me, I need one of you to stay in case Harry or Emma wake's up." He said as he shut the bedroom door after turning off the lights.

Remus and Sirius exchanged a glances. "I'll stay. Moony, you go. You can keep your head better than I can." Sirius said, Remus nodding in understanding. "What exactly are you doing?" Remus asked. James looked up at them, before back at the door behind him. "I have to tell Petunia, Lily's sister, what happened. No matter what I think about that Muggle and her treatment of Lily, she was her sister, and she deserves to know about it." James said before walking towards the kitchen, Sirius and Remus exchanging a glance before following him quickly.

"James are you sure? I mean, you could just send her a letter about it instead. Won't have to deal with them." Sirius said quickly. "I thought about that Pads. But it's not the kinda news you give someone through a letter." James replied, stopping outside the kitchen door seeing as his shoes had been placed there with some other things that had been savaged from the house in Godric's Hollow. "When did this come? And how was it obtained?" James asked the two. "Last night. Sirius, Kingsley and I went back to the house after everything calmed down over there. Got as much as we could of Harry and Emma's things out of there so that when you settle down again, you'd have something of theirs." Remus explained to James.

"We figured we would let you go through your's and Lily's things on your own." Sirius added on, be entering the kitchen and leaving Remus and James in the hallway. "Should we get going?" Remus asked James, who merely nodded, staring at the box of things from the rooms of his children. He couldn't believe he didn't notice it earlier this morning.

James slipped on his shoes, before pulling on a coat that had been brought from the house for him. "You know the address?" James asked Remus. Remus shook his head, 'no'. James sighed, gesturing to the front door, before leading the way out of the safe house. Remus placed his hand on James' shoulder, before James twisted on the spot and the two were gone.
==============================
James reappeared in a neat little neighborhood, all the houses looking the same, the gardens varying on look and wellbeing. "Number four. I just hope that it's only Petunia around, and that Vernon wasn't around." He told Remus, leading the way up the street towards the house. "James are you sure you want to do this? I mean, so soon after it happened?" Remus asked James. "Yes, Remus, I'm sure." He said, hearing Remus sigh.

James stopped at the walkway leading to the house. He let out a breath before making his way up the gravel path that was the driveway. He stepped up to the door, hesitating slightly on knocking, moving his hand, but no actually hitting the door. He took a deep breath, feeling Remus' hand on his shoulder, telling him to calm down and to control his emotions. James knocked carefully on the door, hearing movements from inside.

James looked back at Remus as the door opened, looking back, to be met with the surprised and shocked face of Petunia. "Potter? Where's Lily?" She asked him almost immediately. "You've never come without her bugging you about wanting to see me." James sighed. "Look, Petunia. I know, I do, that you don't like my world, but, last night, Lily was murdered." He said, feeling Remus' hand tighten on his shoulder. "Murdered?" She said slowly, surprised by the news.

James nodded. "We were in hiding, we were being targeted by a really bad guy in our world. He was targeting Harry, our first born. She sacrificed her life for him." James explained. "And your kids? Are they al-" "Alright? Yeah. Emma and Harry are perfect. Completely unaware of what happened." James answered. Petunia nodded. "Thank you for telling me James. I know how hard it must be for you to lose someone like her and have to be a single parent." She said, surprising the dark haired man.

"Yeah. Of course. I didn't think it was the type of news to be delivered by a letter." James said with a nod. Petunia nodded. "Thanks James. Dudley should be awake from his nap soon. I should go." She said, giving James a small smile, before returning inside the house, closing the door on Remus and James.

James turned to face Remus. "That went better than I thought." He said, before he started back towards the apparation point, Remus trailing behind him. "James, are you sure you are okay?" He asked James. "Yeah. Rem I'm fine." James said, before disappearing on the spot, Remus following him.
